I am certainly no expert, and have not seen his swing much.... but if he can generate power without a lot of extension, would that not make it a short quick swing.... reminiscent of Bob Horner?

Or alternatively, the coaches may see that as a correctable issue that they can work with?

Just a question, not an opinion.

I've only seen a little tape of Benson, so I can't really comment on his swing, but correcting swing mechanics is pretty tricky. Think of guys like Cody Johnson. Probably had as much power as anyone in the minors when he was in the Braves' system, but they could never iron out his swing.

I'll be a tad disappointed if it's Anderson, but I trust the scouts. Don't know where they are going to get bats. It's all well and good that they will load up on bats with the Latin American signings, but those kids are usually a year or two further away than June high school draft picks.

Gammons really likes Anderson. I must admit that because I thought he was a mid first rd pick i didn't study up on him much

I will say this, that the difference in this draft between...hell, maybe the top 10-15 guys isn't that much. This isn't a Strasburg/Harper kinda draft where there are one or two huge guys and then everyone else. You could arrange the draft all sorts of ways and be getting pretty equal talent from most picks from 1-15

Yeah, that was pretty bold from Gammons. Called Anderson a 10-yr MLB player and dropped a Mike Mussina reference if I caught that correctly.

Keith Law on Twitter says the Phillies are not taking Puk with the first pick. He dropped the name, but I'm going to make you all wait. Heh Heh
