SUNDAY MINORS FINAL 7/16 ... Really bad bullpens aplenty Sunday

Wilson...
5.0 ip 4 h 1 r 1 bb 6 k

Why was he pulled after 74 pitches?

He pitched 9 innings in his last outing and I'm sure is nearing his innings limit this season. I would wager that its just protecting the young promising arm.

I was just coming to brag on these 2. Herbert has to be shooting up our prospect board

I look at a guy like Caron Kelly. The Cards loved him even though he didn't hit for most of his minor league career. He's adjusted to catcher and has begun hitting and is only 22. Catchers are weird. Their bats seem to develop in weird ways.

Catchers are very weird. At this point, it's hard to say Herbert's value is increasing dramatically in general, but I would guess the Braves are just fine with his development so far. He's a guy that's probably on the trajectory of being a rookie at about age 23-24, and he'll make it on defense initially with the hope his bat gradually improves.

It will be interesting to follow between Herbert, Gutierrez, and Contreras, but I actually think Contreras ends up the Catcher of the future.

welp, look for wilson to start popping up on some radars. if he gets through the season like he has so far, he'll be in the top 100 before you know it.

If he continues like he has so far, then he will be on par with Soroka and Allard. He will skip A+ and be in AA rotation next year. I am not saying that makes him a to 50 prospect but track record says it generally has.
