Suntrust Park Begins To Take Shape

Cobb County plans to bulldoze an entire neighborhood next to new Braves ballpark: deadsp.in/hav2cTp

Next to? This is a couple of miles away from the stadium. Lol!

Rightfully so? Damn the Braves!!! Windy Hill was just fine before they showed up! Give me a break. This connector alleviates traffic from Terrell Mill Road as much as it does Windy Hill - much less Braves traffic on Windy Hill. This has more to do with the new Terrell Mill exit and East Cobb traffic than it does the Braves.

I'm over people whining about the Braves. They made a deal fair and square. Blame Cobb officials and the DOT, in this case, if you don't like the deal.

Stadium and the braves are getting a lot of negative press in the media for this stadium. Rightfully so.

Eh, it's pretty much just from Deadspin. And while there are a few legitimate criticisms, Deadspin has consistently not had a clue what they were talking about. That article, for instance, is a joke.

Agreed...That was going to happen either way. The traffic does suck now. It takes me 30 minutes to get 4 miles in the morning to the 285/75 exit by the stadium, but it's because of the bottle neck there. The additional roads are going to help that once they're finished. As a Braves fan I deal with it as it's temporary.

Yeah, I usually ignore this kind of stuff, but decided to look at the article in light of all the gnashing of teeth.

Connecting that Connector to the Braves is a huge reach. Looking at that plus the other 3-4 articles, does look like Deadspin has a woody for the Braves. I guess they want to shine the light on ballpark-on-community violence.

Not only that, it's just always stupid to write an article based on one random person who is personally being hurt by something. It doesn't offer anything constructive. I could just as easily find 5,000 people who live nearby who think the new stadium will be fantastic, which this same guy did initially. Deadspin hates the new Braves stadium because they believe it is an unnecessary stadium built for the sole purpose of moving out of the city with taxpayer money. So they will find anything they can possibly find to hammer it; the fact that this is the best they could do speaks volumes.

They know nothing about Turner Field or the issues with that location.
