Swanson getting the call...

Do you think Swanson is going to put more butts in the seat? I'm not sure. This isn't Jeff Francoeur or Jason Heyward coming up.

Yes, I think he will. Maybe not a whole lot more, but this is a signal that the rebuild is finally coming to the major league team. There will be people who say, 'Let's go see Dansby!' And there will be others who say, 'Braves game? I don't know...well, they do have that young stud, so sure, I'll check him out.'

Swanson isn't Heyward, but he's definitely Franceour in terms of status. The real hype on Frenchy came after he was already up.

I don't agree on Frenchy. He was the golden Boy all throughout the minor league. Everyone couldn't wait for him to be called up. He was essentially the golden child. Then it went even further when he was hot the first few weeks.

Swanson is an excellent prospect, but he doesn't come with the same hype. Partially, due to each individual case, but also because interest in the team is pretty dead right now.

I dunno. Francoeur was an atlanta high school legend and drafted by the Braves out of high school. He had mega hype locally. Heyward was hyped for his baseball ability and recognized on a national level as a top prospect. Also drafted by the Braves out of high school. I could be wrong but Swanson by all accounts doesn't fit into either narrative. Yeah he was born in Marietta but the Braves didn't draft him out of high school or in college. It's not the same level.

I got goosebumps for each one of them. I got a sense pretty much any serious Braves fan did. With Swanson, it's exciting, but I don't sense the same level from fans.

Very easy to look at attendance changes once Swanson comes up and see who knows what they are talking about and who doesn't.

I would be very surprised if his promotion moves the needle at all.

I'm personally just as excited about Swanson... maybe its because you're more of a Nationals fan these days.

What's the lineup?

I don't even care if he's at the same level of hype as those guys. It doesn't matter, this is a different situation. And it could absolutely still lead to an increase in revenue.
