Tax Bill

Following the passage of the GOP tax reform bill, a number of corporations have announced bonuses and wage increases for its employees, citing the tax cuts as the main reason. One company that handed out one-time bonuses was Home Depot. And the co-founder had some strong words for Democrats who have criticized these bonuses as “crumbs” and dismissed them as PR moves.

Appearing on Fox News Saturday, Bernie Marcus took aim at Democratic leaders, telling host Neil Cavuto that derisive comments about the bonuses will come back to haunt Democrats as it paints them as elitist.

“These are things that the [Nancy] Pelosi and [Chuck] Schumer group don’t have a clue about. It’s why they lost the election, it’s as simple as that,” Marcus said. “[Hillary] Clinton never knew about the real people out there. That’s why they lost the election, and that’s why they’re going to lose the next election for the same reason.”

Towards the end of the interview, Marcus then straight up sad Democrats were brainless:

“You’ve got to use your brains! Democrats, use your stupid brains. You don’t have any brains!”

Going to be fun to see Democratic candidates explain why 1000 dollars isn't a lot for someone who makes 50k supporting a family of 4 struggling to pay their bills. Can't wait to see it.

"tax give away"

I don't think you know how taxes work. You imply the government owns the money

As an adult I fully realize my responsibility to pay what our elected representatives have deemed appropriate.
I may disagree but all the same, that is the contract

and out of the other side of your mouth you imply the government owns a woman's body

and should dictate her decisions effecting her body.

Anyone notice the updated withholding tables in their last paycheck? Needless to say I'll be enjoying the extra cash in my pocket.

I don't think about this forum away from this forum.
But I did question what I wrote after I left my desk

If I am wrong on that I stand corrected.
My apology for pigeon holing

Imagine - If HRC would have won we would not have tax overhaul and none of this investment would be pouring into the country. How fortunate are we that DJT defeated her?

Pfizer said it will invest about $5 billion in capital projects in the US, contribute $500 million to its American pension plan and spend $100 million in bonuses for nonexecutive employees worldwide as a result of the corporate tax cut

Congress to consider raising the debt ceiling earlier than anticipated to account

Cutting spending as it pertains to the debt ceiling is akin to closing the proverbial barn door after the proverbial horse got out
