Ted Cruz

The liberal media is throwing Ted Cruz's name out there , so all the undecideds and independents look at him and think he represents the GOP.

It is one of many tools at their disposal to make the Reps look bad after they got their butt kicked.

Hillary is their only knight, so they put one of the most unqualified GOP's against her to fire up the base. Cruz has no chance and he knows it. He is irrelevant in most the people eye's here. Heck someone of them don't even knew who he was. I really don't. I just thought he was one of those Palin wannabes, hogging the limelight with a 2 cent brain.

Kinda like when discussing race y'all revert to Jesse and Sharpton.

////

I notice more and more newly elected (R) having their pictures taken / publicly aligning with Cruz.

First statement is true,

second statement is not. They are siding with McConnell.

Good try though.

i didnt say all or a majority - i said more and more.
McConnel though I disagree with on most everything is an accomplished pol in the I give a lot of respect to his skills sense.

Will be interesting how he handles a) Cruz b) b) Paul and c) the House

Cruz is actually pretty brainy. I don't agree with a vast majority of what he supposedly stands for and he's got the political acumen of a gecko (was going to say newt, but one Newt did have political acumen), but he's all-Ivy post-secondary and while some guys can skate through that with some misdirection, you can't fake it. You're firmly a biped to accomplish what Cruz has accomplished.

I think what Cruz is playing (and he'll be joined by a number of folks) is an attempt to make sure certain issues are not ignored by the Republican decision-makers during the next Presidential nominee selection process. If the 2014 results showed one thing, it's that Republicans stand a much better chance of winning when they have candidates that don't look like Todd Akin or Richard Mourdock. That doesn't mean that the establishment doesn't want to hear from those from that end of the spectrum and Cruz--for all his wackiness--keeps that part of the base enlivened.

I think what the Rs will be looking at in the next few months is a bit of a tug-of-war between the establishment (which is probably strongly pro-Jeb) and the conservative/populist/libertarian wing. Lots of folks in that wing who will likely come forward (Huckabee, Cruz, Paul) and it will be interesting to see which of those guys the anti-establishment types rally around.

In short....extremism.

love how republicans were for net neutrality until Obama came out for it as well

and then suddenly they were for pay for play and big business and comparing net neutrality to obamacare

side note: i can't take serious when someone uses the phrase "liberal media"

You'll love this one. Rasmussen Reports is a right-leaning polling/consulting firm that releases daily polls. Now I don't know how they precisely worded the question to respondents, but according to the poll, over 60% of those polled were happy with their internet service and opposed net neutrality because it was government interference. Again, I don't know how exactly the question was posed, but I found the result odd and probably credit the result to the term "government interference." Taken to an extreme, that's almost like saying, I find the government's anti-murder stance to be intrusive.

Well it is that time of year and the news struck us, Obamacare or ACA forced our premiums to go up because the hospitals have increased prices by 40 percent. My boss had to counter it with some good planning but negotiating with hospitals was a tough task. He had one employee get billed quadruple for the same procedure, even though the hospital messed up, they said sorry those are the rules under the new act of "If they have to perform a procedure they must document it and charge accordingly" He fought them and got them to reduce it so he wouldn't go public. So a procedure that cost 25k it was 100k but he he got it down to 70k.

My wife had a c-section and stayed in the hospital four days with our child, it was less than an outpatient surgery I had. When I seen the bill I was like WTF and I asked why, they said ACA has to pay double on doctors just in case something happen. Okay, I don't know what that means.

It is a scam and ACA is allowing hospitals to do it. But I know it goes deeper than that. Medicaid they can refuse to a certain degree unless Urgent Care, but those others they can't and now I am paying the price.

Another thing Dems play big business just as well as Republicans, probably more. Dems are more into gays, not saying things bad about Muslims and stuff like that while Republicans are purely business but even their evils of outsourcing and the benefits of it irks me to no end...hence why I hate them.

Now Obama is going to allow another 5 mil on the welfare roll. I wonder how I am going to pay that, more taxes from me?

Your boss negotiates with hospitals for your health care ??

Oh yes.

We have three hospitals in town and he negotiated with each.

He got it down to all blood test will be done at work, no cost to us and not hit our deductible with the Quest Lab in town (they are well known).
Have a doctor on call 24/7, so we don't have to go to urgent care, the doc will let us know if we have to. He was able to get a non ACA doc to do it and not much paperwork involved. It will go through our provider.
We have a clinic on Monday and Friday for appointments at our facility using one of our rooms. The pharmacy will be there on non I think Class medicine that needs to be sent through mail for approval.
We get free physical every year now with full blood work, no cost plus it gives us a discount on our rates. They will raise only a few dollars next year but my deductible is much higher, around 70%. I met my deductible this year of $2450 for my surgery and specialist examines, next year it is around $4000 per person on max cap of $7500 for family up from $4800.

If you have a minimum of 1200 employees counting family and rent out a building there are doctors willing to be that companies doctor, but he was undercutted by another company and hospital and we only have around 400 with employees and family. He said that is what most companies are doing to counter ACA which is killing smaller businesses, so businesses get together to make something affordable.

I was happy hearing these things. He is a multi-millionaire but was ticked off like me on the double billing and charging 700 to 1200 dollars on blood work which should have been free.

$12,500 for an EKG. That is effing ridiculous. It was on my bill. If my bill exceeds a mom having a C section for a kid and both being in the hospital for 4 days and I only being in there for 3 hours, something is wrong.

Another thing, he is proactive boss not a reactive unless it is hurting the company. He gave us raises but gave them based on inflation and then looked at the health care cost. I cost the company over $25000 in health care cost out of his pocket under the umbrella policy or secondary insurance. This is why he is on top of it. He said the cost of medical bills went above 60% what he paid ever in a single year and not different on what normal bills. No cancers or things like that, they are covered elsewhere (catastrophic he said they pay premiums for, which I understand).

ACA is good for companies that can afford it for pre-existing conditions, but that is the only thing. People abuse Urgent Care under ACA and we have to pick up their tabs. I am not getting on you because you love it, but at your age I don't know why, younger, but not so young people like me have to suffer as we have no say so. My boss took it under himself, even retired, to find a way to not cause our monthly premiums to go substantially up. I stood up and applause in what he did. He saved me several hundred to a thousand easily. Yeah, I might pay a lil more in deductible but my premiums did not go up as much as long as I do the physical which we have at this time of year.

not sure what this has to do with anything i wrote

57, a lot has changed since ACA came into effect.

I had surgery, I pay $200 a month for family coverage last year, individual deduct is 550, max is $1850 and then 100% coverage. I paid $2400 for my now $33k surgery. Starting Jan 1 under ACA I pay $216 a month deduct is now 650 and max out of pocket is $2450, family max TRIPLED to $14500.

Sturg is correct, the ACA is killing middle class Americans like me.
POL

It was in regards to Obamination care and it is. I have to pay a lot more money for freeloaders (dems/libs and illegals) who exploit the system now. My raise was tainted by this crap.

I have no idea what you are talking about -

net neutrality? ACA? Your boss? Freeloaders exploiting the system? Todd Cruz?

Gotcha

And you are right he is a dumbazz akin to Palin. I know the Reps here don't like him. They called him a loon for a reason. My boss doesn't even consider him a real Republican and he is a card carrying member.
