If Flores could even be passable defensively at 3B/LF, he'd be a great option as a bat off the bench to give Freddie a little more rest - just not enough flexibility. Only projected to make $4.7 million. Still might not be a terrible option if the only backup OF you carry is Duvall. Duvall can play either corner, Charlie can, and Camargo likely can too - meaning you could cover either corner if Acuna slides over to give Ender his days off.

Just a little surprised that Duvall was tendered. COuld they somehow consider him as fulltime LF?

AA loves his defense as he should, but he'd need a great ST combined with us not signing anyone or someone getting injured for him to play more than a platoon/bench role I would think. If we sign Brantley for LF then Duvall as his defensive replacement in games makes a lot of sense. That leaves Acuna and Inciarte in RF and CF of course.

Not with all the available options out there: Peralta, Haniger maybe, and Brantley/Cutch in FA.

Still not against trading for Pederson or picking up Joyce to platoon with him since they're committing to at least trying Camargo and Riley on the grass - leaves the flexibility to extend a healthy Donaldson and spend big on the pen and possibly bring Sanchez back.

If there's $25 million left and Pederson or Joyce cost you ~ $5 million, that still leaves lots of money for Familia or another back-end arm.

Flow/Mac, Camargo, Pederson or Joyce/Duvall, Culberson would certainly be an upgraded bench, Familia/whomever would be a nice upgrade to the pen, and you'd still have some money to throw at Anibal if you wanted to bring him back.

These guys can still be dumped in ST

A missing point. I don't think Duvall is as bad as we saw...but I also think he needs a consistent starting gig in order to show himself to be decent. Acquiring another cOF renders him useless...we will see.

He's not as bad as we saw but he's still really, really bad. His bat has slowed a tic making him pretty useless at the plate.
