Chick-fil-A, the chicken sandwich chain long beloved by conservatives for its longstanding opposition to same-sex marriage, is sparking boycott calls after announcing that it has hired an executive in charge of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Atlanta-based company named Erick McReynolds to the post of vice president of DEI two years ago, but social media users took note of it in recent days — igniting angry denunciations on Twitter from conservatives who allege that the firm has “gone woke.”
McReynolds has been employed by Chick-fil-A since 2007.
He was promoted to the position of vice president of DEI in November 2021, according to his LinkedIn page.
“We make employment decisions on a non-discriminatory basis and remain committed to maintaining work environments free from any form of harassment.”
The company added: “One of our core values at Chick-fil-A, Inc. is that we are better together.”

I remember growing up and hearing about boycott Ben and Jerrys, War on Christmas, etc. Fake rage to drum up idiots has been a calling card for the right for ages. Now it's just amplified because of Social Media.

I don't think it's unreasonable for conservative people to boycott target for selling satanic clothing to children, tuck friendly swimsuits, etc. We are against mutilation, so that makes sense to me.
I don't think it's u reasonable for bud lights core audience to fi d another beer since bud light once to go that mental illness route. That's their choice... and they can deal with the consequences of that, good or bad
The left has boycott everything in their path for years. Hell they have made it their mission to destroy the life of a small town Colorado baker. And I'm supposed to feel bad about a multi billion Corp facing some backlash?

For real. The left has been using cancel culture as it's primary silencing tactic for years. Now they suddenly have an issue with it.
Ironic.
For what it's worth, I've always been against cancel culture in all forms. But it's not going away, and the left will never abandon it as weapon to silence those who opposite them. So the right absolutely needs to learn to utilize it more.
