I’m fully expecting to get audited. Not because I did anything wrong, but because I do my own taxes and it’s ****ing impossible to navigate our insane tax regulations.

Sigh. I guess I’ll have to start hiring an accountant to process my W2s and stock transactions. The accountants win again.

Transfer pricing is a bit different than tax filings. I don't blame you for cutting bait on something like that. Tax reporting ain't much better.

But, based on how little people know doing simple 1040 and slightly more complicated pass-through businesses is pretty easy. Just never had a desire to do it.

Yea I’m sure. Even within the international tax umbrella, we stood out like an odd duck. In general, I just never was a fan of having to justify someone else’s either poor work or shadiness.

What’s disgusting about the US tax code is that there is a common sense path to catch tax cheats by simplifying the process. The current process basically incentives people to lie on their taxes by gameifying the process (think TurboTaxes fun red to green tax return arrow).

Audit was the worst for this. Basically, you find something wrong and to keep 'client relationships' in a good spot you'd have to spend time justifying why the mistake is ok and not indicative of systemic issues. Such nonsense.

Corporate accounting/finance on the client side is MUCH better and interesting.
