The Biden Presidency

Yea I’m sure. Even within the international tax umbrella, we stood out like an odd duck. In general, I just never was a fan of having to justify someone else’s either poor work or shadiness.

What’s disgusting about the US tax code is that there is a common sense path to catch tax cheats by simplifying the process. The current process basically incentives people to lie on their taxes by gameifying the process (think TurboTaxes fun red to green tax return arrow).

The tax software companies spend big $$$$ to keep the tax code nearly impossible to understand

Every company I've audited or worked for had a relatively large tax department and they'd always have to use outside consultants to do their quarterly provisions.

The financial regulatory system is pushed by the consulting class to keep themselves employed.

How much of our economy is complicated bureaucracy that adds no value but simply drains resources from the system?

100%

I’m also morally against withholding taxes throughout the year. We have created a system where majority of people literally think the tax deadline is a time of year the government gives them money (and therefore make some of the most irresponsible purchasing decisions they’ll make that year).

If everyone had to write the government a big check every single year, there would be much more blowback about government spending.

How many would actually have the money to pay the government?

My favorite time of year is when I have to give the government a few thousand dollars, and I see single moms on that work at fast food restaurants on Facebook getting their "taxes" back in the form of a $10,000+ check.

B, you didn't pay in $10,000 lol

The last sentence all day every day.

All the better. More people that are upset about their tax liabilities the better. This might even create a positive externality where people will maintain a savings account. If not, allow people to make payments in the form of withholding from paychecks in the subsequent year.

Either way, people should understand their tax responsibilities so they can act accordingly.

The amount of damage this illegitimate regime is causing globally/domestically is unquantifiable.
