The Biden Presidency

I’ve lived on Long Island for a summer. Humidity there was worse than much of Florida.

Insanity - There is absolutely nothing like the summer humidity in Florida (for places you would actually want to live).

I've spent time in Tampa/Naples/West Palm/Ft Lauderdalle/Miami

Average 80% humidity on Long Island in July
Average 75% humidity in Miami in July

Sure. It probably feels worse in Miami because it’s 10 degrees warmer.

I lived in California for a decade. I’ll take that over both without hesitation.

I can't wait to move to California. ITs such an incredible state despite their awful policies.

I've only lived in TN, so I don't have a good reference on what it's like to live other places. But among the places I have been, if I had to choose one city to live in based ONLY on weather, food, things to do, traffic, surrounding scenery, etc. I would probably go with Charleston, SC.

We looked into SC - Its super appealing.

Just hard to leave Long Island when you've got your roots donw.

I liked California. It’s just not a reasonable place to raise a young family. Housing is too expensive. Childcare is too expensive. Everything is 50% more difficult (compared to Austin). If I was single and only cared about my career, I would stay there no question.

Probably need to be around 4-500K annual income to have a good life in Cali.

I recently was looking into homes in San Jose (great place).

Its absurd.

That's because you live in NY.

Tennessee summers are equally as muggy. At least in FL you have a breeze you generally get a quick afternoon shower every other day. In TN it's just hot and humid all day, every day in the summer and it rarely rains, except for the July 4th weekend.

I would rather live on a reservation in Oklahoma than live in San Jose again. It’s boring and a ****hole

Interesting - How so?

I've only read good things...especially for those with a tech focussed career.

Horrible traffic. Food scene sucks (we always joked that it’s “consultant food” ie overpriced B+ restaurants that people go to because they just expense it to their firm). You’re too far from the fun parts of the Bay (Santa Cruz, SF, etc) and so every weekend you are stuck in traffic with everybody else driving places. Homeless everywhere so no place to go on runs. I could go on and on and on.

You don’t want any lifestyle that caters to tech in South Bay. Everyone is transient and all the tech companies offer so many amenities because they want their employees to live on campus.

If you want to move to Bay Are, I would only consider Santa Cruz or Marin County.

This is a 10 year down the road idea.

Dropping a bunch of money to my cape on Long Island to support my growing family currently.

Sorry my friend - You don't even crack the top 5.

https://matadornetwork.com/read/most-humid-states-us/

That's basically a breakdown of average humid days, Of course those states are going to have more humid days.

But I can promise you, as someone who vacations in FL 2-3 weeks of the year, it gets just as humid in TN.

Granted, Disney World in the dead of summer is not something I will ever do again. There is nothing that can prepare you for walking 9 hours on black pavement in 95 degrees and 80% humidity.
