Weird, it seems you’re mad that “your judges” haven’t been more political and fallen in line the votes the way you thought they should and seemed to make rulings on the case instead of being political activists

It's sad that people don't want judges, they want advocates. This is true of the vast majority of people in the US. A good example is RBG, she was a great advocate but an absolutely terrible judge. What did that get her? Cult like status.

Ehh. This doesn't account for Dem control of the Senate, filibusters, Roe litmus tests, Bork, etc. Pubs fell in line until the Bork and Thomas confirmations. That woke enough people up that groups actually started looking into the past rulings of potential nominees. The huge leap leftward that the Dems have made during Nancy's reign amplified it. Now instead of just one side pushing ideologues both sides are doing it, and Pubs have done it better thanks to Trump and McConnell. As goldy likes to say, leftists FAFO.

Holding up Garland was still despicable though. It won't be fun when the bill comes due for that one.

And has been for a while. FDR, the Warren Court, etc. The mistreatment of the Court and misbehavior of the Court are serious indictments of the idea to give vast power to unelected, lifetime positions.
 
I think it will have a big effect on turnout for the Democrats. Their enthusiasm going into the midterms and 2024 was really low. Now they have an issue to rally around. I dont really know enough to guess how many Republican women might swap their vote because they still want abortion availability. I assume it's a non-zero number. I cant see anyone who typically votes Democrat swapping to Republican because of this decision. If anything I think the reason Republicans are mad at the leaker is because it gives Dems more time to campaign on the issue before the mid terms.





And before the 3 stooges start putting words in my mouth. My expectation is still that Republicans pick up seats in both the house and Senate. If they dont win a majority in both house and Senate this will be the reason.

Out of curiosity, if the Court consistently rules in favor of greater state sovereignty, why is that such an absurd concern? It’s hard to look at a landscape where gay people are being accused of grooming children by prominent public figures and not not wonder where the line is.

This country legit had a civil war about if states had the right to own other humans

And there are people that are like “well, in 1898 that wasn’t a right so, can’t be a right now”

Can you explain in your own words why overturning Roe is activism?

Because I can explain in my own words how original Roe ruling was activism
