Hope Coppy sees through to this rebuild. I think this will just give Coppy a nice extension to keep him kind of like we did Wren before JS retired when we knew Wren was being groomed.

It's no reason to sound any alarms yet. Right now, it's nothing more than his name popping up.

I have to weigh your no reason with Bowman's have reason to believe. I'm sorry but I have to give more weight (substantially more weight) to Bowman.

So? When it escalates, we'll have something to talk about. Not everybody spends all day reacting to every rumor on Twitter, like certain individuals here. Wren's name came up in connection with Boston. Does it mean it'll happen? In most cases, there's never just one candidate for an opening.

I thought I'd look for it just for fun. He's found his Thesaurus.

"Regressing to the mean: When Perez posted a 2.31 ERA while producing an 86 percent strand rate through his first eight career starts, there was reason to assume his good fortunes would soon expire. But the Braves didn't anticipate him producing a 9.87 ERA over his past six starts or struggling as miserably as he did on Friday, when he retired just five of 13 batters he faced. Perez recorded a pair of loud outs to begin his outing against the Yankees and then fell apart after issuing consecutive two-out walks to load the bases before the game's first run was ..."

WASHINGTON -- Manny Banuelos had legitimate reason to be concerned when he experienced some left elbow discomfort near the end of July. But a little more than a month later, the rookie southpaw finds himself with a chance to collect valuable innings that could benefit him as he bids to become a mainstay in Atlanta's rotation.

I have reason to be concerned that the theme for 2016 has subtly been altered from reason to believe to reason to be concerned.

When the Braves acquired Swisher from the Indians on Aug. 7, there were legitimate concerns about how productive he would be while attempting to get back to the level he was before having surgery on both knees last year.

But as Swisher has batted .378 with a 1.114 OPS over his past 52 plate appearances dating back to Aug. 21, he has given the Braves reason to believe they might be able to rely on him to be a consistent member of their lineup again next year.

:Bowman: Sung to the melody of Reason to Believe

When sweat glistens long enough on you
And fills the cracks down to each running shoe
Throwing back another case of chicken fried
Now you look around mid-season to have lied
Undone by you fans are filing out the aisles to the SEC
Truth spun by you is like a beefaroni pie from Chef Boyardee

As Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran made his way toward the clubhouse with two on and two outs in a tied game on Tuesday night at Turner Field, there was certainly reason to believe Toronto's high-octane offense would soon have its way with Atlanta's much-maligned and inexperienced bullpen. But this was another instance when baseball proved to be a funny and unpredictable game.

A long September and there's reason to believe. Maybe next year will be better than the last.
