The Coronavirus, not the beer

Something seems fishy about the data in Florida. Anybody know if they report things differently than the rest of the country? I can think of absolutely, positively no scientific argument that would provide an answer to COVID just stopping at the border of Florida and not the counties bordering it. Especially when other states are doing many, if not all of the same things as Florida and don’t have similar major population centers.

Immunity walls from natural immunity.

Virus cycles and does its thing. This is what we have been saying for a long time.

Why do you think the northeast was virtually untouched during the summer time and is now getting slammed while the south was experiencing increases? Are you concerned that the reporting of the northeast was 'fishy'?

Maybe natural immunity is a thing...

Sure was nice of the climate to respect state boundaries like that to be in the other southeastern states and not Florida.

Was there anything fishy about the northeast data over the summer or is that not something that randomly 'pops' into your head?

You gotta love it though when Fl gets hit hard... "DeathSantis, etc"

When it's not getting hit hard "They are lying about the data!"

What has Alabama been doing that Florida wasn’t?

Desantis has been the pre-eminent champion of therapeutics and has pushed that through. Are you actually arguing what Desantis has done differently despite countless articles about how he isn't listening to the 'science'?

Vaccine only strategy does nothing but create vaccine resistant mutations and we are seeing that now.

Just me over here unhingedly supporting Kay Ivey and Tate Reeves.

You actually considered that there is something 'fishy' with the Florida data despite that claim being used before and laughably proven to be fake news.

Where was your concern about the NorthEast using 'fishy' data when the South was getting slammed.

Stop pretending to be this impartial arbitrar on this forum. Its easy to see through your political bias.

If I viewed a map that showed an identical trend where WA was entirely blue while Oregon, Idaho and Montana were mostly yellow and orange, I would absolutely wonder about Washington. I’m not saying Florida might not be doing as well or even slightly better than Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana or Georgia, but that it essentially not existing once you cross the state line looks like it’s a difference in reporting rather than a difference in success.

You are now just debating about which borders makes sense to keep in a virus.

Its an irrelevant claim. You jumped to 'Fishy' because of your political bias. This was already tried once against Desantis while hte rest of the country was suffering. Keep trying....

Do you seriously not see how I might find it odd that *every* state with similar climate, policies and populace to Florida, as well as such a close proximity to Florida could have such wildly different results?

Florida has been opened longer than everyone. Their youth population has been exposed and are now completely immune. That is what truly lowers transmission and mutation rates.

Its very simple and its what we have been saying from the beginning. Sweden is seeing the same thing.

The whole approach was wrong because it was weaponized by the global aristocracy to assume control.

We are going to see more vaccine resistant mutations.

This is what you get when you go against decades of science and vaccinated healthy people.

No, generally you vaccinate anyone capable of contracting and spreading the virus. This limits the opportunities for a virus to mutate.

The pressure on resistant mutations is there whether you have a bunch of people gaining natural immunity or a bunch of people with vaccine based immunity. It might take a little longer with natural immunity but the pressure is still there.

Also, Omicron looks to have originated in Africa which has a very low vaccination rate.
