This is the global picture. The numbers are through March 22. The most recent number I can find has deaths now over 18,000.

Deaths from COVID-19 around the world by day

3/10 271
3/15 838
3/20 1,107
3/24 (today) likely to exceed 2,000

Whether you are an optimist or pessimist, the numbers for April and May are going to be horrible. It is just a question of how horrible.

Feb. 26: “And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.” — Trump

New York is on a worse trajectory than Italy and Spain.

Louisiana, Georgia and New Jersey are also bad.

But ultimately, the biggest tragedy might be in Florida. Reflecting demographics, a poor response by state government, and all the people fleeing New York.

In the midst of all this I have a strange thought. What do the anti vaxxers make of this pandemic? How will it affect the movement? Are they still worried that vaccines cause autism?

China taking the world lead on recovery. At least that's what CCPs agents in the media are telling us.

All the more reason we should have been extra vigilant about this.

But the right was downplaying corona last week and the week before when China was reporting lower and lower numbers.

Yeah...the right was downplaying it.

Sure thing. We were the first to raise the alarm while you were spouting racism.
