The Coronavirus, not the beer

Yes and the answer to local government messing something up has always been to trust the federal government. Cause you know that always works so much better

Well, the system in place right now can't continue.

Individuals for political purposes are deliberately impacting case cpunts which is costing the country trillions.

What a disgrace this whole process has been and how easily and without shame our leaders will lie to us.

I'm kind of shocked that people are still responding to thethe in this thread. I am not shocked that he is still a moron.

I've always thought the first task of any educational system is to train people in critical thinking. We're seen instances in this thread (and society generally) of a major breakdown in people's ability to discern between good and bad information and to assess a situation critically.

state and local is usually better...but not always...school desegregation...the role of the feds was not perfect but they nudged things in the right direction

i think in this particular situation (and I posted about it extensively earlier) there was an important role for the federal government to provide the financial incentives for labs to make the investments needed to massively ramp up their testing capacity and bring down the costs of testing...we would be in much better shape if every school system had the ability to test everyone every two weeks...elite institutions like Notre Dame and major league baseball are doing that...but not everyone has the deep pockets to be able to do it

From the article...

Miami-Dade County decided Thursday to send out more than 60 code inspectors and 100 police officers to ticket people for not wearing masks, among other violations. By Friday morning, the county had issued 35 fines and closed three businesses.

...

160 city employees were out and issued 35 fines in a county of 2.7 million. Doesn't seem like mask wearing is an issue there.

I don't think their mandate was to issue fines. That's a last resort for the hardcore chuckleheads. I'm sure most people the city employees talked to complied before it reached the point where a fine had to be issued. The city did this because there WAS a problem. They didn't do it for ****s and giggles.

Maybe you're correct, but you have no basis for that claim from the article.

Yeah I don’t think ANYONE in this thread should spurn someone else’s ability to disseminate information. You all are just team trumpeting.

OK. The NY police regularly post a detail to guard the block around Trump Tower. As far as I know the number of people arrested for molesting Trump Tower is very small. I suppose this is proof that there is no threat to Trump Tower and the police resources dedicated to securing it are a waste.

I wonder how this makes the anti-cop/pro mask crowd feel.

Are they against this cause "**** the police?". Are they cool with it because they are convinced masks are the answer?

Many forget that the reason Fauci didn't promote mask wearing in the early days of the pandemic is because there wasn't an adequate supply for the public.

The reason there wasn't adequate mask supply is because Orange One didn't do his job when he was warned.

Please keep telling us that the federal government shouldn't assume control and responsibility for accurate reporting.

You've literally criticized the CDC the entire time. But somehow now the CDC is completely competent enough to handle all this information, lol.

or all the research papers which indicated masks were almost irrelevant for non medical workers.

I dont support doing this. Ideally we would have strong leadership from the top down asking for voluntary compliance. Unfortunately the well has been poisened and a significant portion of the population will believe conspiracy theories like 5g towers give the virus.
