The Coronavirus, not the beer

Another friend's uncle just died of Covid-19. One of my former students (rising senior) now has it and has probably exposed our daughter. One of my staff members was just exposed caring for his elderly parents.

Guy told me confidently that they mark anything as covid bx they will get funded for it

Obviously covid is killing lots of people, but aren't murders and suicide way up also? Could this be a contributing factor also?

ETA: another thing to consider when looking at excess deaths is it's mostly elderly dying of covid... couldn't those numbers stabilize somewhat over a longer period? Pretty sure I've read that most that end up in nursing home only live a couple years.

when you find some data on that please share

i have seen data on certain states showing deaths from flu and pneumonia up a lot this year from prior years...wonder what is causing that to happen
