The Coronavirus, not the beer

I’m sure there is a massive rush to ensure the population doesn’t think this had anything to do with the trump admin. But like everything the last 4 years we are the living embodiment of a Rorschach test.

Sure thing thethe

"Pfizer, unlike its competitors, did not join Operation Warp Speed, the government initiative designed to erase the financial risk of vaccine and therapeutics development by providing funding to companies and helping coordinate the trials. Instead, Pfizer plowed $2 billion of its own money into the project and then struck a $1.95 billion contract with the U.S. government to provide 100 million doses, contingent on the vaccine being effective."

Government was going to buy all the vaccines. Her comments are purely an accounting exercise. Money didn’t come up front for research but they knew it would pay off when it was created.

Y'all are seriously diseased in your attempts to discredit Trump for anything.

Vaccine developed in record time thanks to partnering with the private sector and not relying on dumb cdc/nih to get it done.

Its a great day... Kudos to Trump team and American business.

And **** off on new lockdowns

Eh... I'd rather credit Pfizer at the moment considering they haven't accepted a dime of the government's money thus far and have done everything completely on their own coin. The government hasn't given any money or any help at all yet, so I don't understand why they should get credit.

You can’t wrap your head around of the fact that Pfizer KNEW the government was going to buy all their vaccines so they rushed like hell to be the first one out.

Amazing how infantile your mind is. Learn how to think critically.

Bc the government is about to buy put their supply and they knew that from the beginning.

Trump lost its not dangerous to give him a shred of credit now

It's kind of silly to debate this. The government absolutely has dangled a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for whoever develops the vaccine. In some cases, they paid some of it out early. But even if Pfizer didn't take seed money, they knew there was that pot of gold out there.

Wow this is rich coming from Q...

There was a pot of gold out there for anyone who developed a successful vaccine first no matter what.

Yes. From the US government as a result of project warp speed.

You need to learn how to think critically. I’m guessing based on the past you’re still very young which is fine. You’ll have time to develop.

The government guaranteed a 1.95b purchase to them directly if they're vaccine was approved. That was a better deal than taking an upfront load.

Seriously... it's ok to give a shred of credit to Trump team. You won't be added to AOCs list if you do

I can almost guarantee I'm older than you.

You have zero basis to criticize other's critical thinking skills

But its quite a bit of fun to get you so upset on an Internet message board.

Yes. Paid for by the American taxpayer. Money well spent.

We should have done something similar with respect to testing capacity to bring down the cost of tests, and the wait times for tests. There should have been a pot of gold and some seed money to encourage companies to develop rapid testing below a certain price.

This vaccine needs to be stored at -70 degrees Celsius and needs to be administered in two doses. It will pose a lot of logistical challenges.

The storing and dosage are easier with the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Hopefully, those pan out too. And maybe some of the others.

It is a bit lucky that the science that allowed for such rapid vaccine development ripened very recently. If this virus had struck 10 years ago, we'd still be fumbling around at a much earlier stage of vaccine development.
