The Coronavirus, not the beer

Question: Why are there so many Covid cases in the US?

I'd save several factors.

For starters, the virus just destroyed the northeast at the beginning... spreading rapidly after escaping China

Next, the amount of testing we are doing is on an obscene level of absurdity.

Next, the government locked us down... except for big box retailerers and groceries. They basically dictated that EVERYBODY go to the same store... because apparently haircuts were too dangerous - best to have 10,000 people go to Walmart everyday

Next - we had nationwide protests of millions of people packing into tight streets to fight racist buildings

Finally - Americans value their freedom and are less willing to give it away. The government said flatten the curve, Americans did that. We now are wanting to get on with our lives as best as as we are allowed. I know you and goldy think this is a bad thing... I think it's a great thing. I wish more people were standing up to this insanity and living their lives once again

You were right the first time. Chuckleheads.

Nah they are chuckleheads. The better approach is to have tsunami curve that wipes out the population... Not flatten it!

The answer is the chuckleheads, of course

How many times are you going to post this drivel? When a new, deadly virus hits a country, the people affected first have a much higher death rate than people affected much later.

All thethe spews every day f'n day is how we've already built up immunities to COVID. If that actually were the case, then clearly states experiencing spikes now would have significantly lower death rates than states that got hit when no immunities were present. Stop acting like we haven't learned a bunch on how to treat this virus since April.

By the by Louisiana was one of the worst states by death rate. But I see you're always silent on them (hmm wonder why). They're seeing their biggest spikes in cases, but the majority of their deaths came in April.

I guess I'll ask a 5th time. Why did Trump purchase the world's supply of this drug if HDQ is the cure all?

Because big pharma has massive influence and im all for any treatment that helps. As we all should be.

Yes, **** Trump, he left the states largely to fend for themselves instead of implementing a national strategy. Thats kind of what the President is supposed to do when we are hit with a national pandemic. If he doesnt want to do it then GTFO and let someone competent handle it.

The blunder could see up to 4,000 deaths removed from England's official toll of 41,749, according to reports.

Whoopsie...just a small 11% overstatement

This is the wrong reason to attack the initial tweet. The tweet saying that Remdesivir costs $1 to produce is extremely misleading. Drugs aren't priced on their cost to manufacture. Drug companies have a short window of time where they hold the patent and have to recoup their entire R&D and testing costs during that window as well as make a profit. Thee $1 a dose doesn't account for that.

For one, no one said mistakes weren't made. But again, everyone was learning on the fly and had no time to prepare. NY politicians attitude was literally the same as Trump's regarding business as usual. I'm not sure why you're still harping on that when Trump literally was saying and doing the same types of things at the same time. The vast majority of NY deaths were not nursing home deaths. So deaths would still be insanely high regardless if there were zero nursing home deaths.
