Haven't really seen a Florida and NY comparison lately.

Cases per million: FL 30654, NY 24470
Deaths per million: FL 582, NY 1702

Fun with math... if NY had no more deaths, and Florida continued at current 7-day death avg (107), it would take 224.7 days for FL to catch NY in deaths per million.

Is this another case of "leadership matters"?
 
Perhaps.

I would think knowing what NY went through taught everyone lessons.
Of what to and not to do.
Kinda like the first person to see a curve ball could only stand and watch it. In time people learned to hit a curve ball.
Kinda like Austin Riley and sliders

I live a state away from Fla with many friends still living and working in Fla. If you are, arguing DeSantis is providing " leadership" that is odd.

Whatever your point, Canada suffered no deaths while US over a thousand.
What did Canada do right that US didnt.

Where does the "buck" stop in your scenario ?

I'm fine with it either way... as long as it's consistent. If governors get credit now, they should get blame for before and vice versa. I'm of the opinion that covid is gonna get you sooner or later no matter what you do. The real measure of success will be what level of damage you do to yourself economically till the virus runs its course.

ETA... I think the winners and losers will be determined a year or 2 from now.

Wait till the evidence mounts that the China Virus was constructed in a lab.

Deliberate attempt to destabilize America. It will take some years to determine which of the traitor 'Americans' (Obama/Biden/Fauchi) aided in its development/release.
 
The great and wise Fauchi now says vitamin D is a good defense against the China virus.

Wonder if there are any cheap ways to get increased vitamin D?
