you know there are all sort of shots that kids have to get that involve a booster...i guess this is news to you...if they don't update their records to show they got the booster they can't go to school...the covid booster is not different from other boosters...it is a bizarre hangup...be not afraid

While we are likening this to previous vaccinations can anyone tell me which ones require quarterly boosters so you can participate in society?

I got 1st shot of phizer, and caught the virus almost immediately after. Sorta crazy, that I had been around several personal outbreaks, NYC late December 2019, and Mardi Gras 2020. I will admit I had a very mild case.

My wife hasn't been vaccinated, and her case (same time as mine) was mild too.
 
We have the biggest city in the country making it illegal for business to serve willing US customers

personally i think cold hard cash is the better way to incentivize taking the vaccine...these rules like vaccine passports to eat at a restaurant strike me as an inefficient way to do it...but generally i think people who choose not to vaccinate are spreading the virus and contributing to other negative externalities and society is entitled to find ways to make them pay a price for that

it's not a situation where someone is exercising a choice and bearing all the costs of that choice

Oh - I am in favor of those at risk to take them for sure. Its been great for that subset of people.

Still doesn't answer my question when you move into the non-at risk population.
 
Setting aside the moral, legal, philosophical questions about a vaccine passport …it’s only effective if being vaccinated is a proxy for being not infected. My fully vaccinated cousin just tested positive. If you can still carry the virus and give it to others, the passport system is a nothing but theater. She was out at restaurants, malls, etc the past several days. Her showing the card did nothing to reduce the externalities to others. If anything, it increased her cost to society, as the vaccine card was a license to breathe shared air at indoor establishments.

Once the breakthrough cases became mainstream, the case for mandates completely went out of the window

Yes I know you are in favor of bankrupting your grandkids to make you feel safer.

But it is still wild to me how supportive you are of the government banning restaurants from serving willing customers.

I thought we fought and won that battle back in the 60s... but as usual, progressives take us backwards
