Trump's done a much better job lately which is part of the reason the race has tightened once again. I also think the left has been overplaying their hand. Comparing Trump to Hitler, grumping abut skittles. It's just kind of gotten obnoxious.

Imo, Hillary's best weapon going forward is her knowledge on the issues. In the debates I would think the moderators could make Trump look like a fool if they Hugh Hewitted it and actually asked him a question similar to what Hugh asked way back when about the Nuclear triad. I always thought that was the way to defeat Trump, to out him as someone who really doesn't know anything about government and such.

I agree, but a vast portion of the public seems to be treating issues like tissues. Toss them away. There is a tremendous amount of frustration out there (on all sides as witnessed by Sanders' success from the left), but I have yet to hear a reasonable solution to any problem from Trump. But when in doubt, resort to bread and circuses.
 
It isn't that surprising to me, really. Clinton just is not a good candidate.

It disgusts me that we've really decided on a ridiculous demagogue who may not actually be racist/xenophobic, but will damn sure play off people's worst tendencies and thinking to cipher votes and a candidate who has proven time and time again she doesn't feel like the rules should apply to her and is mostly filled with the same tired ideas. So appropriate that a nation that has probably never been more divided in the modern era has nominated the two most divisive candidates imaginable.

I agree with Weso that her biggest opportunity to pull away is the debates. I'm sure Trump's quite the headache to prepare for. Issues and logical conversation be damned, he's been able to belittle and eviscerate everyone else who challenged him on the stage. But calling her "Crooked Hillary" up there isn't gonna cut it, and I suspect it will be viewed a lot more poorly than "Lyin' Ted," "Stiff Jeb" and "Little Marco."

I decided long ago I couldn't vote for either one of them and that we really need a shakeup in this two-party enterprise we've got going on. I just can't wait for it all to be over with. Only thing left is for the ECV to end in a 269-269 tie so everyone's heads can explode.
 
If you get rid of toss-ups on the realclearpolitics map and go strictly by current polling average Clinton only beats Trump by one state. Which means that Trump would win if he wins New Hampshire, Virginia, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania. Hillary does have a solid lead in each one of those states. So if the election were held today it's most likely that Clinton would win the electoral college by 6. Crazy that Trump is that close to being president.
 
The interesting thing about those numbers is how many undecided voters there still are or voters planning to go with a third-party option.

Trump's most realistic path to victory is winning most of those Midwestern states. It's a given that he has to win Ohio and Florida. He could finish it off with Pennsylvania if he can get enough of the western part of the state to go along with him. If not Pennsylvania, he needs to win Iowa, probably Wisconsin and Nevada. He's made gains in Colorado, but I can't see him coming all the way back. And he hasn't seemed to gain much traction in Virginia because of the heavy suburbanite population in the northern part of the state. He could have a chance if he could squeak out a win in New Hampshire and get that proportional vote in Maine.
 
only in America can you have someone like Trump have his son come out and say "my dad started from pretty much nothing" and a lot of people believe that

How can a polished politician lose to someone like that? I might rethink my vote for Clinton after most major sources said she was not decisive winner.

If you can't beat a nonpolitician and you made it your career, there is something majorly wrong with you. We are not even talking about all the felon charges that should have been brung.
