You and I neglect to set it. I live in the suburbs with Austin with my fellow middle class. It would be bizarre if a famous family that’s wealthy that requires a 24/7 private security detail would simply “not set” a home intrusion alarm.
Wouldn’t you agree it’s a little less bizarre if it’s an 81-year-old in what is likely one of the safest neighborhoods in the world? Hell, the one witness was someone working private security nearby. It’s easy to forget that being in that lifestyle for 50 years might allow them to take for granted how abnormal their position is.

It’s a possible explanation. I would counter that it’s then irresponsible to allow your fellows in congress to try to place blame for this attack on republicans when you put yourself in a position where a mentally ill person can break into your home with a hammer. Tax payers are financing their home security I imagine.
Agreed, but that’s hardly surprising. I might support Democratic policies more than Republican ones, but Democratic politicians are still the ****ing worst.

Definitely not surprising. Unfortunate how eager each side is to seize the moment.
Part of me wishes we would have let this story lie. For all I care Paul Pelosi can dress like a goose and have 25 Berkeley hippies run a train on him. He’s an adult and in his private residence. It’s very unfortunate that this incident had to become political theater.
Yep, but much like the ghouls on the Left taking this moment to go after the Right, the ghouls on the Right can’t let this be about a deranged radical that believes the most extreme version of their words either. So instead of wishing Pelosi well and moving on, it was a gay lover. It must always be about the other side being evil and your side being right.
This is why thethe’s post above mine will be the only thing we hear from those not willing to cling to the gay lover story.

I’ve only loosely followed this story, but so far I’ve heard everything from this guy being MAGA, to a Berkeley hippie nudist, to a QAnon guy, to an illegal immigrant, to a right wing nut demanding answers from Speaker Pelosi, to a gay lover of Paul Pelosi. Was he designed in a lab to trigger just about everyone on the political spectrum? We’re only missing gun nut and drag queen, but it’s still early.
That’s the beauty of the criminal being as crazy as this one seems to be. Fringe lunatics don’t tend to have the most settled political views. That paired with a political and media landscape designed to reinforce any argument you want to make leads to people being able to run wild with speculation.
