The Reverse Pennant Chase

I'd be perfectly happy with the Braves not winning another game the rest of the season. Any player starts getting hot - mystery injury and shut them down for the season. Do it right this year and tank all the way.

We still have a shot at the number one overall pick. Twins are only 2 games worse than us, 22 games left to play and our schedules are roughly equally as difficult the rest of the season.

We win the tiebreaker if we end up with the same record. The tiebreaker is the previous seasons win loss record. We had a much worse record than the twins in 2015 so we just need to tie them to get that top position.

I like your optimistic outlook. Please post more.

Whats the Klobster up to these days. We should sign him and let him pitch the ninth every time we have the lead so we only win from walkoffs.

There's 19 games left, time to shut down JT - don't pitch Johnson in the pen, give Freeman some more rest.... ect....

The Braves won't do it, I don't know why, only the Braves care about winning games at this point - but they SHOULD.... the #1 pick is more important than letting Teheran and Jim Johnson win some meaningless games.

Honestly it lets us get a better look at Blair/Wisler/Folty/Gant/Whalen/Jenkins/Perez anyway... all players that could use a few extra starts. We know what we have in JT.

Teheran has won five games. And Johnson could combust like a gas can on a hot day at any moment.

Full speed ahead.

Last night went about as well as possible. We lost while Minnesota, Arizona, Cincinnati, Tampa, San Diego and Oakland all won. Can't beat that.

We're now two games better than Minnesota. We're 4.5 worse than Arizona, 5 worse than SD, 5.5 worse than Tampa and 6.5 worse than Cincy and Oakland.

Neck Markakis and his homerun fest needs to cool his jets. Anyone see this guy having 12 bombs this year and like 85 RBI? SIT HIM DOWN SNIT

The closest we are to picking third is 5.5 games. With only 16 games left, it feels pretty safe to say we'll be picking second at worst.

Now all eyes turn to the Twins. I believe the tiebreaker is last year's record, so all we have to do is tie the Twins and we'll get the top pick.

Looks like it's gonna be difficult for us to gain 2 games on the Twins.

We're a young, rebuilding team taking its lumps. They just suck. We oughta get extra points for trying and still sucking. That should be worth a game or two.

On second thought, I love the Collmenter acquisition.
