We still have a shot at the number one overall pick. Twins are only 2 games worse than us, 22 games left to play and our schedules are roughly equally as difficult the rest of the season.
We win the tiebreaker if we end up with the same record. The tiebreaker is the previous seasons win loss record. We had a much worse record than the twins in 2015 so we just need to tie them to get that top position.
I like your optimistic outlook. Please post more.
Yeah, I like this generally-outstanding-performances-mixed-with-a-sorry-reliever approach we're working with now. Good stuff to see, still lose. It's good.
At this point, if we finish second, I wouldn't be surprised if we tried to trade for the top pick with the Twinkies.
How would we do that?
There's 19 games left, time to shut down JT - don't pitch Johnson in the pen, give Freeman some more rest.... ect....
The Braves won't do it, I don't know why, only the Braves care about winning games at this point - but they SHOULD.... the #1 pick is more important than letting Teheran and Jim Johnson win some meaningless games.
Honestly it lets us get a better look at Blair/Wisler/Folty/Gant/Whalen/Jenkins/Perez anyway... all players that could use a few extra starts. We know what we have in JT.
Looks like it's gonna be difficult for us to gain 2 games on the Twins.
