The Trump Presidency

James Clapper just said that there was "no wiretap activity" (no FISA order) against Trump.

...I thought anyone with an average IQ and not wearing rose colored glasses could see what likely happened...

Yeah, how many of those voted in the last election (for either side)?

All I can say for sure is where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Fox News spouts off on much more ridiculous conspiracy theories all the time and their supported believe every word of it. Now now, we all know Fox and Alex Jones only tell the straight gospel truth, (cough, Jade Helm, cough cough). lol

If there's evidence, and the people holding it are smart and intend to use it against the President of the United States, they better be sure they cross every t and dot every i, because if it is true, it's going to cause a "uge" ****storm if they try to act on it.

OK, good, but it should be "Yuge". ;)

You think the protests by the left are bad now, what until they try to bring down the right wing nutjobs's God Emperor. Oh the left won't be the ones to bring him down, the far right extremists who are working on a socio-economic coup right now (ie McConnell and Ryan) are just using Trump as the poster boy for what they want to do, like getting rid of every social program while increasing spending for corporate welfare and the MIC. Then when they've got everything in place they'll either turn on Trump and agree with the Dems that this guy needs to be impeached, or more likely they'll just arrange a nice little getaway for him to Dallas and as soon as they find a nice left wing loon to pin it on new president LB...err Pence will take over and put the final nails into the coffin for everyone who isn't in their little club, and since they'll be able to point to a left leaning loon who "did the deed in Dallas" they'll have no trouble getting re-elected again and again. By the time those not in the top 5% or so figure out what's happened it'll be too late.

Everyone, including the media and other Twitter users, should completely ignore Twump's tweets. It may take a while, but that's the only way to survive his craziness.

question for legal eagles...if Trump' s wiretap claim is unfounded would Obama have grounds for a defamation claim

Could he bring a case? Yes. Would he win the case? No. If Presidents or ex Presidents could sue for every false thing said about them they would never leave courts. Its umderstood that politicians are going to be slandered so its hard for them to win. They would have to prove Trump knew it was false when he said it and prove that Obama suffered from it in any way. The case might also involve talking about things the government likes to keep secret like FISA courts. Theoretically Obama could bring the case, win, and get a settlement of 1$.

I wonder which imaginary investigation will be completed first: Trump's voter fraud claims, or Trump's wiretap claims?

Trump is masterminding the media once again.

Using these frivolous claims to take away the heat off Sessions, others etc. There's probably several backroom deals going on right now that won't make it to the front page as long as this wiretap thing continuous.

Tom Friedman: 'They must be clinking vodka glasses right now in Moscow. For less than the cost of a MiG-21 they've thrown the West into complete disarray.'

You think it would be all sunshine and rainbows if Hillary was elected? With a Republican Congress she wouldnt make it past 2 years, we would probably already be having hearings that could lead to impeachment. We would be on the verge of war with Russia too.

“I think he’s right in that there was surveillance and that it was conducted at the behest of the attorney general — at the Justice Department,” Mukasey told ABC’s “This Week.”

Mhm.

"It means there was some basis to believe that somebody in Trump Tower may have been acting as an agent of the Russians for whatever purpose,” he said. “Not necessarily the election, but for some purpose.”

I see your mhm and raise you two mhms

Nothing to see here, no conflict of interest, move along.

I really haven't been paying much attention to the latest Trump-Russian stuff (I just don't really care at this point) but didn't you say this same stuff about 12 or 13 years ago when our true reasons for invading Iraq started to come out and into question?

That was sarcasm.

And, for the record, no -- I was ~16 years old when the Iraq stuff was unfurling and my interests were ... elsewhere.

I did not realize you were such a yute at the time. It's no wonder you weren't into the war back then. You were too busy worry about how certain other "invasions and incursions" were going to be received. ;)
