Historically? I know it's hard to divorce from the stigmas, and perhaps that should be precisely the design, but if you look at Nazism, Italian fascism, Showa fascism, strictly through lenses of economic, infrastructural and industrial growth the results are ... impressive. The sociopolitical realm in these instances is a huge bone of contention, I get that, but the world was a different place back then. I'm also aware that the way we understand society and politics today is a direct result of democratic forms of government triumphing over fascist ones, but sometimes it feels like global realities are outpacing our systems of government.
