The Trump Presidency

Lol at nsacpi

Julio was always a sort of ideologue so I am not surprised he went over the deep end but I have been flabbergasted at how irrational Nsacpi has become in the age of Trump. All logic and reason have left him and all that remains is pure unadulterated hatred for anything that is Trump adjacent.

I'm not sure I can help you. I'm sure you've seen the same clips I have. I thought they were disrespectful to Mr. Phillips. I'll leave it at that.

Out of curiosity, did you see this one?

As these boys go through life, they will learn there are many situations where respectfully stepping aside is the appropriate thing to do. There are other situations where standing their ground is the right thing to do. May they learn from their encounter with Mr. Phillips.

After watching the above, I think there's a lot of learning to be done...

I have not viewed that particular video but was aware from other clips of the role of the Hebrew Israelites. The video you shared does not change my view that the boys from Covington were disrespectful toward Mr. Phillips.

I have also read Mr. Sandmann's statement and find his characterization of his role as an attempt to diffuse (hopefully his English teacher will point out that defuse is the word he should have used) the situation to be difficult to reconcile with what I observed on various clips. He really should have stepped aside and let Mr. Phillips go on his way.

Do you think the boys behaved in a respectful manner?

I’ve already stated before that I’m all for taking a minute to consider other possibilities, but strangely the characterization of the incident by the kid involved doesn’t exactly prove anything.

What was the original characterization or your take on what took place?

What would have been respectful in your eyes? What should they have done differently since its clear from all videos that Nathan Phillips decided to stop and drum in front of the boys.

In a perfect world they would have ignored him and walked away, but I think it was an awkward encounter in a tense/strange situation. He approached them banging his drum and chanting and it seemed like they were chanting along with him. I don't see anything particularly disturbing. Frankly, given the whole video, I think the boys showed a lot of restraint given there was a group of adults nearby who had been hurling vile insults at them, trying to incite violence.

I watched I good portion of that two hour video and my main takeaway isn't "man, the kid with the goofy smirk should have just moved to the side a bit." If you were aware of the BLH's role, how is condemning them not your biggest takeaway?

You find the kid's statement difficult to reconcile with what you saw, but I don't see much credibility in Phillips' take. Phillips: "This kept on going on and escalating, it just got to a point where you do something or you walk away, you know? You see something that is wrong and you’re faced with that choice of right or wrong.” His idea of doing something to diffuse the situation between the boys and the BLH is to go up to one of the kids and loudly bang a drum in his face? How about, I don't know, getting a police officer?

For the record, I admit to pure unadulterated hatred for all things Trump.

His administration is nothing more than a publicity stunt gone awry. Frank Bruni tells it like it is.

It should not only be those people held accountable. The media was complicit in all of this and did not conisder the implications of ouahing their anti trump rhetoric.

The amount of retractions that are coming in should tell you all you need about what the truth is and how awful the original takes were from the lynch mob.

A lot of people need to seek help for their TDS.
