I'm dissapointed that Trump has not used his pulpit yet for this. This should be a rallying cry for every parent when they see their children being targeted by the lynch mob for unjust causes. Dark day in our society.

Yes - when innocent teenagers are doxed by a bunch of wealthy elites on twitter in the pursuit of progressive ideals and then it turns out to be fake news we are in a dark time.

I still contend that the answer is just a bit murkier with the whole situation rather than this being an obvious case of innoncent children doing nothing wrong and being abused for it. It seems like the answer is somewhere in the middle rather than one side being completely wrong or right.

iconic photos are iconic photos for many many reasons.

The photo of the girl leaning over her shot-dead friend at Kent State is the defining picture of that era.
Reason is, so many things going on

Who fired the shot? How did he feel about the shot ? Was he in favor of being there or simply doing what he was told ?
Did he get pleasure firing the shot ??
Were the National Guard justified ? Were the anti war protesters justified?

Of course the girl leaning over her friend and all of their stories

yes, I think in 50 years people will look at this photo and see --- what they wasnt to see and what they want to believe.

I really don’t think any person who purports to be fair can watch the footage—all the footage—and come away with the conclusion that some of those kids weren’t acting inappropriately. Saying that the immediate pile-on was a product of wealthy elites is particularly ironic, since the counter-narrative is a product of PR professionals and lawyers hired by the kids’ parents.

Please help me understand what aspects were inappropriate.

Alsox i believe most of this representation was volunteere after it was clear fake news. Conservatives are outraged like never before.
