The Trump Presidency

I view today's congressional races as a more reliable barometer of the country's confidence in Trump.

Still don't understand HRC winning Cobb County

It's 2017 & there are Nazis working in the White House & a press secretary spouting the rhetoric of Holocaust deniers ... but her emails

but her emails

Question - Do you think Hillary lost Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania because of the emails or because she spent approximately 7 minutes there campaigning?

Feels a bit patronizing to beat this email drum over everybody's head.

EDIT: nevermind - don't respond. Hawk's right on this one.

Hilary's message to America? "I'm with her" ... the most self adoring message one could think of

Trump's message? "Make America great again"... a message that might appeal to a lot of folks in the rust belt who've left behind.

Surprising that Jay Z wasn't enough to convince them over

Nah it was the emails, bro.

The Holocaust Centers were warned, they were given an explanation, nevertheless they persisted

There are over 100 Republicans sitting in districts that wouldn't have been heavily GOP enough to overcome the D swing we saw in KS tonight.

Confidence and optimism is some funny ****
and not ha-ha funny

If you are looking for a perfect example of desperation, it would be trying to spin a loss in a money-soaked, low turnout special election into 'confidence and optimism' ...

After years of discussing current events with you I hold the impression your political basis is so short term .

Actually a gripe among (D) right now is had DNC thrown money into this race like they are in Cobb County they could have won the seat.
Even if they won the seat what would that accomplish ? Still be a minority in a very partisan House.

Guess my point is the difference between a rally that includes a HR and a rally that comprises of many base hit with a couple 2B involved.
A HR is widely viewed as a rally killer.

The opitimism /confidence is my point about the conversation been having for a few days.
This was not a random pol taken at Cracker Barrel or Whole Foods but an across the board survey.
In November Trump won this district by 25%

Sam Brownback is the least popular governor in the United States. There is deep-seeded angst in Kansas and the natural (perhaps rightful - I don't know) punching bag is the Republican party. Pompeo won big because he was affixed to a populist (read: change) candidate, but I suspect had Trump not been on that ticket it wouldn't have been as much of a straight-ticket blowout. 122K people voted last night in the 4th District, 275K in November. Disaffected's generally turn out most heavily in special/off-year elections. Democrats sunk a significant chunk of change into Thompson, had Bernie's 'Our Revolution' group on the ground for the past month and a half.

If you want to draw confidence from the mobilization effort that's one thing, but I'd be hesitant to go much further than that.

Let's see what happens in Georgia.

Silver summed it up
No more no less

I saw one writing last night about the Les Aspen special election in 1993 that foreshadowed the 1994 blood bath (R) laid on (D)

The smear campaign has begun in Georgia. For some reason I thought that vote was yesterday too
Though it has been explained to me I still don't understand HRC winning Cobb County in November.
What a crazy election

Lost in the conversation of bombing an empty airfield and shifting political tides is

The FBI did have a FISA warrant and Carter Paige is in the soup.
Proving further -- y'all elected a pathological liar. To be generous

The twitter blogs I read tell me the Senate and House did not give immunity to Michael Flynn because they already had enough on the Trump Campaign to go forward with out Flynns testimony.

This is about to get tangled.
Remember a few months ago when I mentioned Constitutional Crisis ...
here we go

He summed it up prior to the November election too. Remember how that turned out?

Modern empirical methodologies are undergoing a pronounced revolution. Silver has been on the outside looking in for over a year now.

What a crazy election

I have a few theories.

Silver was of the few that called November correctly. It was last February and March he was wrong

Curious to hear those theories. They will get no argument from me
