The Trump Presidency

i don't agree with that

and raise taxes should be the very very last thing they do to fix that problem

perhaps "taxes" is the wrong word, revenues would be my point

3.75%
The state of Illinois has a flat income tax, which means that everyone, regardless of income, is taxed at the same rate. That makes it relatively easy to predict the income tax you will have to pay. As of the 2015 tax year, the income tax rate in Illinois was reduced from 5% to 3.75%.

There are no tapes.

Comey's word vs the guy that promised to relase his taxes over a year ago, protect Medicare and swore he didn't mock a disabled person.

How do you propose "raising revenue" without raising taxes?

Ready to start spending cuts? Careful, if you do, your a heartless, inhuman conservative who gives no value to existing human life!

In a hypothetical scenario... let's call it pensions: I'll be the government. You'll be jpx. And thethe will be future people.

Me: I have $100 to give jpx his pension... but, I'll go ahead and give him $150. We'll deal with that issue later

jpx: Great! Now I can be a government leech my whole life and have an amazing pension!

Me - 30 years later: ****, I don't have enough money to pay jpx's pension!

Me: That's OK... I'll just raise taxes on thethe to make up the balance

thethe: WTF? Why are you raising my taxes!!!??

----------------------------

You may not want to call that theft... but if you step out of political correctness territory for 10 seconds, I don't know what other way to describe it

Contracts are sacrosanct, right, Mr. libertarian?

Nice one!

No. I can't make a contract with thethe promising money from julio that julio didn't agree to give.

Basically, the contract is illegal, because it requires theft.

But if that's the best retort you got, then i think I've made my point.

With your logic, the government can promise everyone $1M today... and when it comes time to pay, "they have to go by the contract!"

But Julio's elected officials have the constitutional authority to make said deal

One other thing before I get back, the man that's cleaned the urinals in a government building is a leech ?
The lady in DMV for 30 years is a leech ?
When thethe cheers ICE for capturing however many from whatever organization, those that risk their lives to process and feed those prisoners are government leeches.

you have a lot to learn about respecting a person and affording everyone their dignity

next time you piss in a public place, think, someone is going to clean up my mess

You never answered my question. How do you propose raising revenue without raising taxes? That'll be very interesting to hear.

And yeah, they're leaches.

Yes, it was a nice one, as you avoided one of the central tenets that libertarianism hangs on, which is the contracts are sacrosanct. The only reason, by those lights, to have a court system or a government at all is to have some adjudicative body to enforce contracts.

LOL illegal.

So it seems that swatting that argument away requires accepting that taxation is theft and not part of a social contract entered into by free people.

How can you call something a contract if you can't hold up your end of the bargain?

That's fraud.

What's the solution when someone can't hold up their end of a contract? They go bankrupt. They don't get to steal money from others to pay you back.

Unless your the government of course.

My position has absolutely nothing to do with "political correctness".

First thing "they"can do is rid themselves of that nonsensical income tax system. Which was a response to your question. Guess that went over your head
Ok, you call that raising taxes and theft.
We get no where
I don't know, have a bake sale or like we used to do for traveling baseball sell Boston Butts
What a stupid question &
If I could answer that question intelligently do you think I'd be talking to your dumb ass on a baseball board ?

I sound like an old scold but, you have a lot to learn about people and life
...........

I asked you a question earlier that you avoided ... please with the asking ridiculous hypothetical question stuffs then invariably argue with every answer because you already know an answer.

That was what you said...

I'm curious how you raise revenue, without raising taxes.

I know the answer is that you can't, and I think you've gotten there too. So I'm glad we can move on from your nonsense.

So... anyone surprised that Illinois is going to go bankrupt? California probably next.

I'm not.

This is (unintentionally, I assume) hilarious, on a number of counts.

Nice counter.

Let's look at the progression of this discussion:

Sturg: Illinois going bankrupt bc of horrifying pensions

57: it's everyone but the government's fault... and the government needs to raise taxes to pay it

Sturg: So you want to steal from future generation to pay back your incompetence

Julio: BUT CONTRACTS! GOT HIM!

So what is your position here, Julio? They need to raise taxes now to pay off their horrible pensions? If so, when is there ever an appropriate time to stop bailing out bad decision with tax payer money?
