Nikki Haley on Russia meddling: Election interference is 'warfare'
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Thursday that interference in U.S. elections by another nation “is warfare,” telling an audience in New York that such meddling has become Russia’s go-to tactic.

“I will tell you that when a country can come interfere in another country’s elections, that is warfare. It really is, because you’re making sure that the democracy shifts from what the people want to giving out that misinformation,” Haley said Thursday at a forum hosted in New York by the George W. Bush institute. ”And we didn’t just see it here. You can look at France and you can look at other countries. They are doing this everywhere. This is their new weapon of choice. And we have to make sure we get in front of it.”

While I'm glad there's still someone in the Trump Administration concerned with Russia, we're basically in the middle of WW3 with the election meddling we've done.

You'd think the United States' long history of meddling in elections would give it a leg-up in terms of getting out in front.

Election interference? Bah. We moved past that and mastered regime change instead.

The people spoke by not watching. That is what is driving this. Thanks for the irrelevant sidebar.

You missed the entire point. Trump is attempting to insert government directly into football. Going so far as to suggest changing the current tax system for the NFL. At the very least, he is using his influence as President to try and shame players and the NFL as a whole.

So you clearly condone this type of behavior only when it suits your narrative

Shoot, it's no end of hilarity for people who've been ignoring or boycotting the NFL because of CTE or Kaepernick to now see Trumpistas cheering the loss of NFL revenues as a win, and shouting amen to removing their tax-advantaged status. Please, throw us in the briar patch!

I'm trying to imagine a world like just a few months ago where republicans and their disciples freaked out when soldiers died in a weird way in Africa

but i guess like the truth and everything else they don't give a **** about that anymore

Will be interesting to see how the markets react to the budget passing last night. We may see another 10% gain in the next 6 months with tax reform.

Jobless claims down to 44 year lows. Things are looking great. More Americans with jobs the better. You want to improve the livlihoods of African Americans and hispanics. This is the way to do it.

You mean he is trying to take the government OUT of the NFL by removing tax advantageous rulings which provide preferential treatment to billionaires? THE NERVE!!!!

Sure. Go ahead and believe that if that makes you feel better.

And surely none of this trend started before Trump was elected....

screw GWB and his speech but bigotry has most definitely been emboldened in this country since trump. when Nazism and the KKK are winked at by the president, and never rebuked, you get teens comfortable calling black people slurs and nazi gatherings (which feature shootings). terrible for our country and its children.

Senate Passes Budget, Unlocking Vehicle for Tax Reform
Senate Republicans passed a budget resolution Thursday evening, clearing a significant hurdle and setting up the process to consider tax legislation later this year.

As expected, the approval margin was narrow, 51-49, with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and all Democrats voting against the measure. Though the budget resolution does not become law, it is a critical step in GOP plans to overhaul the tax code this year. It sets up the process known as reconciliation, by which Republicans can bypass a filibuster and pass tax legislation in the upper chamber with just 51 votes -- a likelihood if Democrats remain united against the GOP plan.
