Refuting Wolff's claims is one thing, but actively trying to stop

publication of the book is another thing altogether. Throughout history tyrants

have to sought to silence critics by blocking the publication of books

that portray them negatively.

Oh well if you want to argue semantics, then fine.

I'd say it's worse to know it and completely ignore it.

You want to make the argument that Obama governed by the constraints of the constitution?

I think that every President in recent memory has pushed the limits of executive power and worked in whatever gray area they could find, some more than others and Obama included. I've repeated that a lot around here over the years. Spoiler alert: I imagine future Presidents will do the same thing.

I tend to think you have a very rigid and Manichean idea of the Constitution, which doesn't seem to make much room for the breadth and power of the ability of legislators, lawyers, and jurists to artfully write and interpret law.

the AG is not the president's protector. the fact donald felt he needed protection, and lobbied for the AG to do it for him, is pretty disturbing. but he understands literally nothing, so..

The final stats are in:

In 2017, the US added 2.1 million jobs,

compared with a gain of 2.2 million in 2016.

nothing to sneeze at but furthers the point - Trump inherited the economy

Sure. But save. Me the crocodile tears from the left about the fear of Trump not knowing the constitution. It wasn't an issue the last 8 years, why is it now?

And when umemployment is 0, there will be 0 new jobs

And when umemployment is 0, there will be 0 new jobs

They just have no clue and only for thoughts based on what their echo chamber tells them. Financially illiterate people love to chime in about the economy. It's amusing.

Tell me how you feel about Abraham Lincoln.

Gomez Addams had a skydiving theory. That if one incrementally used smaller and smaller parachutes one would eventually not need a parachute at all.
I used to laugh at that until reading what you write day after day.

We have been subjected for months with how glorious the Trump economy has been and how many new jobs are being created due to the confidence of the manufacturers in all things Trump.

" And when umemployment is 0, there will be 0 new jobs "
sometimes you act like a silly little boy

Exactly, what's the difference between not knowing the constitution and not caring what the constitution says. Constitutionality is practically a joke in the country because people with biases and agendas interpret them to fit their goal and not as it was intended.

I think he wishes he didn't sit in the balcony

What's your thoughts on him issuing an executive order to lock up the press? I have said many times I see Trumps presidency paralleling that of Lincoln who was very unpopular until Sherman burned down Atlanta.

trump thought the stock market lowered our deficit. lol. talk about financial illiteracy.
reminder that trump is far from a top job creator.

Cajun, really? You're comparing events during the Civil War that were tearing the nation apart to Donald Trump throwing a hissy fit about a book being written about him. During extreme times (Civil War and WW2 immediately spring to mind), chances are that extreme measures will be taken, and constitutional law will take a back seat and sorted later. Trump getting his panties in a knot over a book is not in the same universe as having to lead a nation through the Civil War or WW2.
