apparently in some of the areas with walls or fencing the migrants just wait at the wall (on the side facing Mexico) until border patrol finds them...and they turn themselves in

I think the focus should be on enforcing our laws and adding to the resources to do this...more judges to process the backlog of cases for example...but that's not the sort of wedge issue that gets folks excited

Could you link me a proposal by an elected Democrat that would have restricted border patrol from seizing illegal immigrants or that would make crossing the border legal for anyone who wants to cross? I didn't study the Democrats border security proposals during the shutdown but I vaguely remember something like money for thousands more border patrol agents and new/better tech at the ports of entry.
