thread on actual for real governmental attacks on constitutional liberties

Biden shouldn't have taken the kids away from unvaxxed parents. Sometimes you have to admit it when your side does something wrong. That was definitely tyranical.
Its a reminder that your ideology had no limits to the tyranny they cheered for

Now we're seeing the slippery slope. Children being separated from their parents thanks to Biden's precedent.

The slide is that the government knows what roughly half the population will go along with enthusiatiasclly.

So color me bored when that same population cries about Trump being mean to CNN

A senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement official testified in federal court on Wednesday that his office had used opaque pro-Israel blacklisting websites to help target international student activists for investigation and possible deportation.

The admission by Peter Hatch, the assistant director of the Homeland Security Investigations department within ICE, appeared to be the first time that an administration official had acknowledged taking cues from the shadowy groups behind the sites, including Canary Mission, which has been accused of doxxing individuals engaged in pro-Palestinian activism.

Mr. Hatch’s testimony came during the third day of trial proceedings in a case that has emerged as a major challenge to the Trump administration’s crackdown on foreign students.

Lawyers representing the academic associations that sued the administration called Mr. Hatch as a witness to bolster their argument that detaining prominent critics of Israel was part of an official policy to chill political speech unaligned with President Trump’s agenda.

Donald Trump posted on Saturday that he is giving “serious consideration” to revoking Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship.

The president posted on Truth Social, “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

He embarrasses us every single day

How is he still having a beef with her like 30 years later. It's depressing that he's such a manchild.

Ignoring the massive illegality of what he's saying, if I was rosie I'd stay in Ireland because the little man clearly has a rage boner for her.

Ignoring the massive illegality of what he's saying
It's almost like we've placed him in a different category not occupied by other presidents or politicians. More like the crazy uncle living in the basement. Except this particular crazy uncle has an army of enablers that carry out his whims.

One of the darkest thing I’ve seen some segments of the right flirt with recently is taking the ideals of ~40% of the nation and using it as a means test for citizenship. Omar Fateh is not being accused here of any crimes, corruption or even antisemitism. The suggestion is if you run for mayor on positions another ~40% of the country supports, your citizenship should be questioned?

I won’t lie and pretend this is anything more than political theater, but it disgusts me that there are elected officials promoting this same idea and wish Trump would help combat it. If you want to win one of these Mayoral races, show how the policies of these candidates will lead to worse outcomes. Don’t question the citizenship of a kid who was born and raised here(!) and grew up to believe something you don’t.

I dont know a thing about him but I can predict based in his name and what he looks like his policy proposal are Marxist. Am I correct?
ahhh would you look at that!

Omar Fateh, a Minnesota State Senator running for Mayor of Minneapolis in the 2025 election, has outlined several key policy proposals focusing on progressive reforms, public safety, economic empowerment, and community-centered governance. **Sanctuary City Policies**: Fateh pledges to make Minneapolis a "safe-haven" for abortion and gender-affirming care, protecting access to these services.[](https://thepostmillennial.com/mamdanis-socialist-pal-omar-fateh-runs-for-minneapolis-mayor) - He aims to "Trump-proof" the city by resisting federal policies under a potential Trump administration, particularly regarding immigration enforcement.[](https://thepostmillennial.com/mamdanis-socialist-pal-omar-fateh-runs-for-minneapolis-mayor) - He highlights his legislative success in securing free public college for students from households earning less than $80,000 annually as a model for investing in people over corporate interests.[](https://www.fatehformayor.com/meet-omar)[](https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/omar-fateh-minneapolis-mayor/)[](https://takeactionminnesota.org/takeaction-members-endorse-omar-fateh-for-minneapolis-mayor/)7. **Collaborative Governance**: - Fateh promises to work collaboratively with the progressive Minneapolis City Council to achieve tangible results, criticizing incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey for frequent vetoes and lack of cooperation.[](https://sahanjournal.com/democracy-politics/omar-fateh-minneapolis-mayor-election-jacob-frey/)[](https://takeactionminnesota.org/takeaction-members-endorse-omar-fateh-for-minneapolis-mayor/)[](https://mshale.com/2024/12/16/state-sen-omar-fateh-kicks-off-minneapolis-mayoral-campaign/) - He emphasizes a leadership style that listens to community needs and works across political divides, drawing from his bipartisan legislative achievements like the rideshare driver wage bill.[](https://www.southwestvoices.news/posts/campaign-q-a-omar-fateh-will-work-across-the-aisle-if-elected-mayor)[](https://mshale.com/2024/12/06/state-senator-omar-fateh-announces-run-for-minneapolis-mayor/)These policies reflect Fateh’s progressive vision, rooted in his experience as a Democratic Socialist and advocate for working-class, immigrant, and marginalized communities. These are included as part of the public discourse but should be critically evaluated, as they may reflect partisan framing rather than definitive policy details.

so I can look at nothing but the name and picture of a person and know what their ideology will be... know that it is unethical to the United States constitution, and know they are college educated.

I guess I was just lucky!
