Much more attractive? I'd expect them both to be about 2 WAR per year players over the next two years.
And you would probablt be wrong. Not to mention WAR for pitchers is a pretty por stat to make you judgement from.

Lohse has the better ERA and IP numbers. Hudson has had the lower FIP the past three years. Choose your weapons. For what it's worth, Steamer projects Huddy with the lower ERA and FIP in 2014.
You take FIP all you want. I'll take the pitcher with the better results. Anyone who thinks Hudy has been better than Lohse over the last 3 yrs clearly has not been watching the sport called baseball
Man, if Freddie, Jason, and Justin all leave in 2015 and we don't produce guys to replace them, which starts 1-3 years ago, we will be in trouble.
We NEED to extend 2 of them.

From DOB's blog:
From what I was told, the Braves’ 2015 payroll was a particular difficulty when it came to fitting in Hudson. The Braves have 14 arbitration-eligible players this year and will keep most of them at significantly higher salaries in 2014, then give big salary bumps again for a lot of them again in 2015, either through arbitration or in possible long-term extensions for some young standouts.
This is an interesting point. After 2015, we have a ton of flexibility/options. Uggla's contract expires after 2015. Heyward, Justin Upton, Medlen and Venters will also hit free agency barring contract extensions.
The question that comes up then is if the second year was the issue with bringing back Hudson, wouldn't it also be an issue for a player like Lohse who has two years left on his contract.
“When I was traded from the Oakland A’s to the Atlanta Braves before the 2005 season, a childhood dream was realized. I grew up a Braves fan just a few hours south of Atlanta, and it was hard for me to believe that I was going to actually play for the Atlanta Braves and legendary manager Bobby Cox. My family was young. We had a toddler (Kennedie), a baby (Tess), and a baby on the way (Kade). We were welcomed into the Braves organization with open arms. Our son was born two weeks into my first season, and our journey began. The Atlanta Braves are really all that our children know about this crazy baseball life, and we are so thankful for this upbringing for them.”
“And to the city of Atlanta and the amazing fans in all of Braves country…my deepest thanks. Braves fans are one-of-a-kind. Your passion to win comes close to equaling that of the players that go out on the field each and every game. But when the team goes through rough patches, you’re there to encourage and cheer and believe that things will turn around. In my 9 seasons, we definitely had some very high moments and some extremely disappointing moments. But one thing that I learned is this – once a Braves fan, always a Braves fan. No matter what. And as a player, that means more than you could understand.”

Did anyone see chippers tweet? it seems huddy was behind the boycott on chipper.

Seeing a rift between my favorite player and a bunch of dudes that will probably be gone in 5 years is irritating.
What boycott on Chipper?
Ahem. Were they not friends? What happened? I have never heard a peep about any of this.
