TLHLIM

I can only speak about the people I work with in my department. We have non-white immigrants from Jamaica, Ecuador, South Korea, China and Indonesia. All massive ballers and great colleagues. I also have white colleagues from Appalachia (Kentucky, Western Virginia). Also wonderful people and great contributors (in spite of their funny and occasionally incomprehensible accents).

It is this openness and diversity that makes America great. May it continue.
Hahahaha

I only have experience with really educated immigrants, so y’all’s views are invalid

they didn't all come here as educated immigrants

that's the marvel of this country...it takes sometimes poorly-educated immigrants and gives them and their children wonderful opportunities...there is a book titled Streets of Gold...i highly recommend it...it shows that the outstanding upward mobility of the children of poorly-educated immigrants is something that persists across time and is true of immigrants from everywhere...we are a big part of this country's success

now i understand that the success of these children of immigrants can create some jealousy and frictions...but it also should serve as an inspiration for what is possible through ambition and hard work....my children are examples of this...they have advanced degrees....do cutting edge research on thangs like mRNA vaccines that will allow people to live longer and more productive lives...no flowers or thank you notes expected

same with the children of my colleagues...during the school year some of us have a Tuesday lunch where we always gather....and the conversation can often be described as humble bragging about our children...a lot of children of immigrants doing great thangs
