Once upon a time young Americans made the mistake of lionizing the Vietcong. But on the larger picture of the Vietnam War they were largely correct. In 50 years, the assessment on this latest iteration of the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians will be similar. Some young people are wrong in lionizing Hamas. They are not wrong in seeing Israel's culpability in creating a great deal of avoidable deaths and suffering. And yes we should hold Israel to a higher standard given the material support we provide them.

Culpability sure

But better ally? Gtfo

Terrorist organizations making it known that they tortured, raped, and killed the young daughters of a country tends to draw a harsh reaction. Hopefully it will always be so.

It’s a shame so much childish thought has infected the country as if Israel can’t response because they are the bigger country. It’s a gross worldview point as Israeli young women and children are raped and killed by animals.

"why experts and academics should treat ordinary Americans with respect"
I don't think either would be an important ally. We've spent so much money propping up the state of Israel.

I've said for years. I wish we weren't dependent on oil and could tell the Middle East to go fuck themselves and be Russia and China's problem.
