We will just have to agree to disagree on this point, but let’s be crystal clear here that this was still political violence perpetrated by a non-trans person. Whether that political violence was triggered by their support of trans people is not relevant to whether or not trans people deserve their constitutional rights.

There is a lot of good conversation to have around rhetoric, social media, empathy and mental health overall. And if a bunch of people knew of Robinson’s plot and let it happen or were involved, I hope they are held sufficiently accountable for conspiracy. But for those who are already calling for action on the “trans violence” problem due to this shooting, it is doing nothing but attaching your pet cause to a tangentially related case.
 
It’s trans violence. Stop twisting it. Inspired or actually perpetrated makes no difference. These people are mentally ill and need to be removed from society until they can get the help needed.

It does make a difference. A non-trans person did this. It is not evidence that someone with gender dysphoria is a danger to society. People are inspired to commit atrocities because of white nationalism. Does that mean you and I should be hauled to camps for inspiring violence with our whiteness?

I’m talking about the general epidemic, not the Kirk assassination. I don’t recall Kirk saying anything about wanting to kill trans people or even hating them, but that’s certainly the way he’s been painted by some of the leftist propaganda organizations that masquerade as news media. And that certainly appears to be the reason for Charlie’s murder.

People are calling for trans people to be removed from society until they are cured of their mental illness. That’s essentially the forced imprisonment of the entire group, especially when you consider that mental health professionals would not “cure” them by forcing them to de-transition.

They are a danger to livelihood of others. They are infringing on our rights.
 
I’m still 100% with you guys on the tragedy of Kirk’s shooting, happy to engage with you on common sense solutions to reduce the senseless political violence and am even open to continuing to explore the link between gender dysphoria and other types of mental illness that lead to these outcomes, but you’re just talking about blatant government abuses here.
