I know a trans person and they are very kind. But he will be the first to tell you that he carries a lot of baggage.

I don’t really care what decisions grown adults make. I also don’t get that worked up when someone asks to go by certain pro-nouns (as long as they don’t get too worked up if I get it wrong). I don’t think it’s a decision a kid should be allowed to make.

With that said, I find myself in the camp that generally that most trans folk are not getting the type of help they need. Gender affirming care does seem like quack medicine. More charitably said, I don’t think these folk are solving the root problem by getting pumped with intense hormone treatment.

My job is hybrid but I go to the office 5 days a week lol

I commend folks that can work from home, but I find it distracting and the days just drag. I need the mental on/off switch that comes from the commute.
When I went full remote I gained a bunch of weight too. I miss the office but at least get to travel quite a bit to corporate clients

I find this to be a completely fair response to the issue, and I wouldn’t really ever object to someone expressing concern or doubt with the treatment in this manner. I don’t think people need to inherently trust it or approve of it. I think the world would be a lot better place with more of this sentiment, even if I’d come to a different conclusion.

I’d add I don’t really find the sentiment from the trans community to be very inclusive ironically. They constantly shame. They use “cis-gender”. As a slur. There is zero tolerance for folks for misgendering them or deadnaming even if by accident. They attack parents who don’t support gender affirming care for their kids. They attack cis-women for protecting their own spaces (sports, bathrooms, etc.). I find the gay community to be much more tolerant.

I don’t wholly disagree with this, either. Though I’d add the caveat that I can empathize a bit with the emotional response to being told by society you’re a medical abomination who should be locked in a mental asylum for life. I don’t find it productive or fair, and some take it to extremes I can’t even begin to justify. But just like I find it hard to entirely condemn supporters of Charlie Kirk for their anger at his assassination, I too find it a little harder to condemn a trans kid for having a lot of anger with our society as a whole.

I’d also add that a lot of the things you’re going to see from trans people are presumably online, where people are at their worst and most extreme to begin with.
