I know a trans person and they are very kind. But he will be the first to tell you that he carries a lot of baggage.
I don’t really care what decisions grown adults make. I also don’t get that worked up when someone asks to go by certain pro-nouns (as long as they don’t get too worked up if I get it wrong). I don’t think it’s a decision a kid should be allowed to make.
With that said, I find myself in the camp that generally that most trans folk are not getting the type of help they need. Gender affirming care does seem like quack medicine. More charitably said, I don’t think these folk are solving the root problem by getting pumped with intense hormone treatment.
