And I am sure Jesus was a person who existed too. Just not a son of a God. He was a Carpenter though. So imagine hiring him and later found out the Son of God helped build your house.
It’s more likely that the Greek word for builder was assumed by Europeans to mean carpenter when it actually referred to stone mason in the case of Joseph.

Ridiculous

Yeah I am sure a cop in 1970's were all upstanding citizens. Imo black people at the time had a right to fight back. People nowadays dont understand why MLK is a hero. Because he largely prevented it. I do think racism by police is overstated today, but back then we to this day dont even know the full scale of humans rights abuses by cops before cameras were everywhere. I could show you endless cases where a victim of a cops lies is only saved by a random camera. Before cameras were everywhere those people were convicted and the book thrown at them.

If your first reaction is “not too familiar with this…but the cop probably deserved it,” that’s a ridiculous take.
In general, we should not overly generalize. I know that's a broad take. But sometimes the exception proves the rule.

Do you have evidence she’s innocent?
I don’t think that makes it more likely than not that she was innocent, but that context does perhaps make it slightly more reasonable for an individual or organization to extend her some benefit of the doubt when reacting to her death. I still wouldn’t do that, but the context isn’t meaningless to the discussion.

You lack understanding of policing. This was a time when police would kill you for talking shit them. How many years before this was the FBI director sending suicide notes to MLK. But god forbid we dont assume random cops were paragons of virtue. Asatta was aquitted of muder twice and robberies 3 times. Onky in the last trial by an all white jury was she convicted of a crime. She was denied discovery about the COINTELPRO program by the FBI which was relevant evidence she was denied. There was no gun residue found on her. Doctors testified her injuries from gunshots could only have happened with both arms raised above her head and could not have hit her at the angle she was shot at if she was shot while crouching while shooting. They also said it would have been impossible for her to pull a trigger with her injuries. Also the police officer she supposedly killed was never mentioned by anyone as even being there until an hour after this ended.

I dunno, it seems like maybe it can both be true that cops have done terrible things to people, particularly people of color, and that we shouldn’t blindly assume the innocence of a murderer because of that.

Its not blindly. She had no gun powder residue on her. No fingerprints as any gun. Doctors said the cops story is impossible. She was shot with an upward trajectory when cops say she was crouched. Impossible from the distances. Doctors also testified she was shot with her arms raised. Keep in mind she was aquitted of several murders before this. And the FBI was running an operation to disrupt groups like this at the time. Was it a setup? Who knows, but given what is public record about government abuses, I know its not out of character for police at the time.

How dare you use reason??

I'll be visiting for the first time in January. Will be on the lookout for the crazy. My about-to-be son-in-law is Australian. Sounds like I should be concerned.
