TLHLIM

I don’t want to resort to whataboutism, but it’s wild to consider we’ve previously seen teenagers have their college admissions withdrawn because a three year old clip surfaces of them not self-censoring while singing along to a rap song. That’s deemed appropriate punishment for the “crime.” And then we have this situation, where an adult is running for ATTORNEY GENERAL of a state, and those in power are willing to accept his “apology” and support his continued candidacy.

The global left needs to be crushed. It needs to be thrown into the trash bin of history never allowed to return. They don’t know how to build. Only how to destroy. A cancer on society.

I still don’t understand why this isn’t what we want to see. People taking steps to improve themselves in prison is a good thing.
He isn’t “going to college” to better himself. It’s all to craft a story. Watch part of the appeal will be “aspiring college student”.

You have no way of knowing that. You know nothing about this person beyond one act in his life, and while he deserves every bit of accountability that comes his way for that act, I do not understand how it’s good for the soul to see other people as static in this way. Do you just not think people can ever improve? Should we cheer for him to join a prison gang?

“One act of life”

Brutally taking the life of an innocent person.

You know nothing!

But again, what do you want from the prison system? If we are already doing the thing that punishes him for his horrible crime and keeping the public safe from him, why not celebrate positive steps in his journey instead of complaining about how it might eventually help his parole case? You can’t change the past, but we can build a better future.

And I’m not downplaying murder, I’m saying you have no insights into his motivations or interests. Instead you are creating your own caricature of what those are based on his crime.

I'm not celebrating because its all a farce. Its going to be used in his plea deal.

Watch

But forgive me for not caring about the motives of a rabid dog who killed an innocent kid in cold blood.

I’m not asking you to care, I’m suggesting that maybe you shouldn’t get into a fit of rage at the mere news of him attempting to better his life in some way. You could just choose to not care in the opposite direction instead of being rage baited by someone spending their time in prison learning.

I'm not a sad little puppy dog like you who falls for every window dressing decision that is made.

Its only going to be used as a sob story to get him out of jail sooner.

Just you watch

You know who would probably love to be enrolling for college right now?

Austin Metcalf

But sure, we should let this dog get to enrich himself after proving to a worthless piece of shit.

You are always on here going to bat for murderers
Because the world is messy, complex and interconnected. I personally think the world is a slightly better place if Karmelo Anthony uses the educational resources available to him and betters himself while he serves his time than it is if Karmelo Anthony spends his prison sentence doing less productive things. All things equal, we should want our prisons to be filled with more people trying to gain new skills and become more beneficial to themselves and their communities one day, not fewer. That extends from the petty thief or tax cheat all the way up to the murderer. Our society is not actively aided by prisoners shanking each other instead of reading a book. So all I’m saying is maybe don’t get actively incensed by someone doing the right thing, even if their motives are questionable or you don’t think they deserve a second chance after their sentence.
