While I agree it wouldn't be surprising to see Coppy try to land a piece or two, I'm not sure anyone's actually been made "available" that we'd be all that interested in just yet. While Lucroy makes all the sense in the world, it'd be kinda foolish to get in on the bidding war that's swirling around him at this point given the options that will be available this winter (and other potential trade options that would be less expensive to acquire).
If a younger hitter like Myers or another potential cornerstone piece like Longoria were to be made available I'd expect him to pounce, but this winter's market does actually line up with where our holes are. That being the case, it'd be a bit of a waste to spend both prospects AND money when he can just go get a C, 3B, LF, veteran starter/pen pieces with the available funds we'll have this winter. Short of getting someone like those guys, we're probably better off signing guys on shorter term deals this winter even if they were slight overpays.
