Trade targets?

It's absolutely a failure not grabbing some sort of utility guy that could play 2b and OF. And no, Whit Merrifield is not a suitable replacement for nearly 2 months.

Hopefully Olson, Murphy, and Riley do their job, so we can deal with little offense at 2b

#Braves didn’t make any last-minute trades today, for those wondering….

López tentatively set to start Saturday, Alex A. said. Fried threw a bullpen and felt good….

Braves are below the third luxury-tax threshold and intend to stay below it

I don't understand adding the payroll of Soler and Jackson and then doing nothing else. I'd rather us have written this year off as not our year.

Lopez must be legit not serious if they didn't trade for a starter

Thats what i was fixing to say. Lopez must be fine. Crochet would have been nice but hes got heath issues to and has never pitched as many innings as he has right now. I can only imagine this board if AA had traded the rest of our prospects for him and he got injured a week or 2 in. Some of yall would of had your pitchforks outs as usual.

Adding a big time bat with no prospects and staying under threshold is pretty good

Don’t worry. If Fried or Lopez go down. Or Morton continues to look 49. The Braves have elder and Dodd as solid backup plans. Don’t forget shwelly is already at career high in innings.

So a lot of crying for no reason if true

100%.

All it does it create more work for Alex in the offseason with Soler, Kelenic, Harris, Acuna, and an option you have to accept in Ozuna.

Add in a loss of 2 million when you have to buyout Luke Jackson's contract. You aren't exercising his awful 7 million dollar contract for next season.

They couldn't find a middle IF that had less than 5 million remaining on his contract?

For a team that has had or will have to start Zach Short, Luke Williams, David Fletcher, Nacho Alvarez, and soon to be White Merrifield for 70-80 games this year, I'm not sure why MI wasn't addressed.

I definitely don't understand the luxury tax. All I know is the Braves were somehow at $273M before the deadline, added Soler and Jackson while trading away Matzek and somehow only increased to $275.3M.

Staying under the threshold makes it a better deadline, imo.
