Trades/acquisitions

Austin Riley just hit another homer. I cannot even begin to describe how nice he's been for the Braves. That covers another place the Braves won't need to add at the deadline :)

Alright - Let me see how bad of an idea this is for the community.

Rockies pay half of Blackmons remaining salary (including player options). It would only costs a 40FV or less prospect.

Should the Braves inquire?

3B is a possible upgrade spot with Riley shifting to LF. He is that bad over there.

I can't. Someone else might be able to.

Riley rates as the 3rd worst defensive third basemen on baseball savants 'outs above average'.

Outs Above Average (OAA) is the cumulative effect of all individual plays a fielder has been credited or debited with, making it a range-based metric of fielding skill that accounts for the number of plays made and the difficulty of them. For example, a fielder who catches a 25% Out Probability play gets +.75; one who fails to make the play gets -.25.

Even if you could, that may be the case for lots of defenders. That period would still count

That data set would be meaninglessly small. Riley is not good at 3B, and the only thing we don't know is exactly how not good...but we know it's pretty bad.

He is also not good in LF, but better than expected. At this point, there is no way I risk messing up whatever is going right for Riley by moving him to LF.

To me, it seems like Riley is Freeman's replacement at 1B in the event he signs a deal elsewhere.
