Trades/acquisitions

Riley just isn't that athletic. Seems to have some footwork problems. Super strong and looks like he'll be a keeper as a hitter. Great natural power.

Any rumors on Grossman?

Can he play CF?

Grossman can barely play LF. I agree that CF is where the upgrade should come, but I don't see anyone on the market at the position other than Buxton. Kepler has played CF and grades out better than Heredia at the position, but he's not really a CF either.

Can Joc play CF?

At this point I don't want to let perfect be the enemy of good.

I think we will have more of a positive impact getting a better bat over Heredia despite the downgrade defensively.

He did when he first came up with the Dodgers, but not much in recent years. Hard to know how he compares to Heredia defensively.

The CF upgrade option more or less sailed when Marte went to the As. Now the plan for CF should be to mitigate Heredia's lack of offense a bit by not letting him hit in high leverage situations vs RHP...which was allowed to happen for no logical reason last night.

The obvious impact upgrade is Bryant in LF for something like Waters plus filler. If that price is too high, a compliment to Almonte like Harrison is about the best we can hope to see.

And a damn RHP for the BP...there are several decent ones out there....get one.

There are a ton of rental bats. I think it's possible somebody will end up w/o a dance partner tomorrow. Maybe we can get a deal.

I'd be looking more for guys like Kepler instead of Bryant if we move a major piece or pieces. Guys with multiple years of control.

I wouldn't give waters for Bryant while still very much on the outside of playoffs looking in.

I was trying to figure out why there's so much love for Kepler, even with this past decent seasons and then I saw his savant page. Dude is solid: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/max-kepler-596146?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb

if by some miracle we got two corner guys, I'd be ok with him in CF. He'd give up some but I don't think he'd be Gattis or even Ozuna level.
