Most of those who started fires and assaulted people at the mostly peaceful protests vote for Democrats. So does Farrakhan. Anyone can play this game all day. It's what made the dishonest media version of "good people on both sides" so harmful, and so evil.

well you just triggered me hardcore. I am still pissed about what went on in 2012 Republican Primary. We were told Ron Paul wasnt worth wasting time on because he wanted to bring the troops home. Thats Sean Hannity's words. So anyone who wants to make this about the liberal media can **** right off with that ****. We were told by people like Hannity that the right wouldnt fall in line and vote for Ron Paul. The conservative media said only Romney can win...... how the **** did that turn out. Romney never had a chance and they fell for that stupid **** were he polled well at the start of the race because he had name recognition from his previous run.


Ron Paul would have obliterated Obama in a debate. I dont think the Republicans have any candidate who has as much crossover appeal to Democrats as Ron Paul while still being a strong and principled conservative. He could have attacked Obama from the left on the drug war, policing, bringing the troops home, civil rights, etc. Ron Paul makes Obama look like Donald Trump when it comes to civil rights.... and he is actually against the civil rights act.
 
Fox/Hannity are the voice of whatever passes for Republikaner © orthodoxy at any particular moment. It is worth recalling they were quite anti-trump during the 2016 primaries. CNN gave him most of his oxygen during this period. Once trumpism became Republikaner © orthodoxy Fox swung into line. And they will swing into line again if/when it shifts again.
 
I recall the rule change they made to prevent an....well I used to say insurrection but that seems weird now...... so lets say prevented a revolt at the RNC. Ron Paul ran in 2008 and figured out a genius strategy to win the nomination that the Republican party had to use shenanigans to stop. Little known fact if Romney didnt get enough votes to secure the nomination in the first round of voting the delegates were not beholden to vote for anyone on the second vote like they are for the first. Paul's strategy was to get his delegates appointed in the caucuses and then win on the second round of voting.



One example in a long list of shenanigans. In a highly pro-Paul district in Maine the GOP canceled the primary with the excuse that there would be a snow storm. There wasnt...... and then they told those people they could vote if they wanted but it wouldnt count. They even went to the trouble of muting the mic anytime someone tried to say his name during the RNC.
 
I don't remember much about that convention except for Clint Eastwood and the empty chair. Wasn't there some hurricane that cut it short?

I kind of like the quirkiness of having the Iowa caucus lead things off.

But I don't think the various criticisms leveled at it are crazy. It has allowed folks like Pat Buchanan, Pat Robertson and Rick Santorum to get an early boost. Quirky begets quirky.

I told my daughter that Mr. Potato Head is gender neutral now and she smiled and said, "This is the greatest day of my life. Finally I can be at peace." We hugged and I started sobbing. It was so beautiful.

Anything would be an improvement over Trump. I want conservative policy. What I dont want is the massive corruption and incompetence of Trump. Yeah I know, that makes me a commie.
