Folks, is it woke to be a brick and mortar store that sells things people primarily buy online from Amazon?

I saw some libertarian call these people the Woke Right and I think that’s a fair attack. A lot of this type of social media content relies on turning every business failure, regardless of cause, into a social issue. Party City didn’t lose because of wokeness, they’re just outdated.

Party City went out of business for the same reason as Radio Shack. Their whole business basically became we have things you need but didn't think ahead to buy. Like for the simple party **** Walmart and DOllar Tree have them. Halloween stores had a model to come in and make money 3 months out of the year then run away from rent.

The average cost to rent a retail space is 23 per square foot a month. So a 10,000 square foot store would have an average rental of 230,000 a month. Which is crazy to overcome selling just cheap ****.

Checking in on the free thinker brigade after it turned out the guy who ran into the Christmas market was not an Islamist. Seems to be going great.

Another point of view. Read her series of tweets under this one.

Have already done so. The only evidence provided that he might be secretly Muslim was the one about Hamas, but her *second* tweet is him talking about how Germany is trying to spread Islam. Him being a violent, unhinged asshole with a variety of people he hated isn’t surprising given the knowledge that he ran his vehicle into a market. But to take that collection of evidence: he knew a Muslim guy and was violent and abusive toward other refugees doesn’t suggest he’s pretending to not be Muslim.

"No.. We will return Hamas to Gaza and if you like we can bring Hamas to your home so you can taste it”'

Yeah, let's ignore that.

Until I see further evidence I think he's just lying about his current beliefs.

I’m so glad the German government gave a wanted Saudi criminal asylum as he was telling friends his ideas to mass murder Germans.

I explicitly mentioned the Hamas tweet, but that’s one piece of evidence from 2023 to support a theory that doesn’t follow any established pattern of Islamic violence.

That’s a much different issue and worth discussing what went wrong. It’s also muddied by rushing to label him an Islamic Terrorist despite the majority of his public statements showing the exact opposite. I suspect there’d be a lot more cohesion for finding solutions if this person who explicitly supported anti-Muslim sentiment wasn’t being painted as a reason Muslims can’t be integrated, just as there’d be more agreement on deporting criminals if people weren’t claiming migrants were a horde of violent criminals stealing all the jobs.

“You don't have constituents. You have Trump supporters who ONLY voted for you because President Trump endorsed you, and we wanted to give him the support he needs during his next term.”

Why even have a Congress then?

Its the same **** recycled. Bush Jr was a Washington Outsider. Was a little young but let me guess he was branded as a Washington Outsider too. Almost like theres a theme going there.

So is the issue that anti-white racism forced JD Vance to slum it up at Yale Law School?

I would love to see Trump take an IQ test. He barely passed a dementia test. But I agree we should be IQ testing kids in school. How much busy worka kid does in school is not an accurate representation of their mental ability.

For once cerno is not entirely wrong. Entirely doing a lot of work here.

If you collected data on people born in this country having advanced STEM degrees and the zip codes they were born in you would find these intellectual deserts. Some deserts would be in poor urban neighborhoods with lots of minorities. Other deserts would be in rural mostly white counties. After adjusting for population you would find out that there is something about being born in those deserts that holds them back from becoming scientists and engineers.

That would be the straightforward empirical part. The more difficult part would be trying to identify exactly what it is that is holding them back and what might be done about it.

Interestingly, foreign-born kids and kids with foreign-born parents who have to go to school in those intellectual deserts are better able to surmount those circumstances. That's an important hint that might help us identify what exactly is holding back the native-born kids. There is a lot of untapped talent out there.

It’s just common sense that a lighter shade of red is only for girls and a 4-year-old boy liking it is the work of the Cultural Marxists.

Don't think so. It makes a certain amount of sense and is practiced in certain countries. No different than identifying athletic talent at an early age.

I don’t support changing education standards for child athletes either. I think IQ is garbage to begin with, but I don’t favor funneling all academic talent away from the social sciences and humanities. I 100% agree the supply of these academic programs greatly outpaces the demand for its graduates and too much public money is spent guaranteeing kids can go into debt forever not using those degrees. But I find it a societal ill to not encourage those who will excel in any industry to follow their passion to less capital-creating fields.

There are huge externalities to new ideas and scientific discovery. We already subsidize those activities to some extent.
