The big issue here is that you can convince idiots that Americans will benefit from adding a bunch of low-wage factory jobs, but you won’t be able to convince them to actually work them. So unless you’re also intentionally aiming to kill the entire service industry, you’re not doing much for the working class here.

The big issue is over half the voters voted for a clueless clown who tried to convince them that dark-skinned immigrants were eating their cats.

I'm not too sympathetic to the folks who were ok with all of this suddenly getting agitated cuz their 401k's took a hit.

I love the idea that the Dems have this many people on retainer today, and the implication that a shuttle service is inherently sinister. Maybe they’re helping poor people get downtown, man. I have no doubts that left-wing organizations are using their money to support these protests and a good bit of the “grassroots” organizing is astroturfed. But that’s no different than paying DC Draino and Libs of TikTok to do messaging. Where the fuck do people think those donations to the DNC and RNC go? But you can’t manufacture quite this much participation. This portion of the electorate attending these events was frankly already firmly (D) so this isn’t evidence of some turning point, but it’s insulting to pretend that politically motivated citizens attending multiple rallies and getting involved is some sort of evil unique to progressives.

These folks are never talking about themselves or their kids taking these jobs, it’s always about someone else.

We’re not talking automotive work, we’re talking textile work. Automotive work would be a Utopian dreamscape for textile workers.
Hahah

Tell me the lotto numbers in 15 years too

Apple makes textiles? That’s wierd. Show me that source?

What about nvidia ?

What I’m saying is there are industries that depend on labor that is so low wage and awful to do that it’s laughable to call our current auto workers low wage in comparison.

I don’t doubt that protectionist tariffs can lead to *some* good jobs. But a lot of what we are supposedly driving with tariffs aren’t that and it’ll be more expensive to buy those goods now.

So you believe that’s the only manufacturing jobs that will be created is Nike Shoe sweat shops.

Got it

There is also some relief in sight on this other hand- no tax on tips, no tax on SS, and drilling our own energy. Along with deregulation, I can see a balance

No, but we’re tariffing the things they build in Nike sweatshops anyway for a lark or something.

And the thing is, everything else you’re saying could be done without what he’s doing now. Also, many of those things aren’t actually in process right now.

Yeah I tend not to judge the 4 year term by how the first 3 months go. And if I did the first two months killed it.

You do you though. The sky isn’t falling.

Man- I’m not in the game of short term. No one should be.

Any market down turn comes back to pre drop levels within 2 years. If I’m freaking out about a market dip (that we all knew was overdue) for a few weeks and a few points drop in my 401k return then my investment plan is shit.

If anything doubling down now while the markets depressed here in a few weeks is the play.

Sorry it’s not a day to day game for me like some.

And Joe Biden did this to the economy already. And I did bitch about high interest rates, housing costs, and his inflationary policies.

Yet again- so you can understand the difference those are longer term effects than a market taking a dip that is fairly normal for anyone investing for any amount of time

But other than that, great point lol
