It looks like we have a sufficient amount of information to determine a motive.

Please tell me why this is not the number 1 issue for Western Civilization for the next 100 years?
 
Because the US will be a predominantly atheist/agnostic country by then. Religious right won’t have anymore influence.

This idea that these problems are going to go away if we just hope really hard that they do will not and has not worked.

The problem is only getting worse. There are a couple of simple changes that can be made to help ensure our security. People won't like those changes but when you are honest with yourself you realize its the only thing that can be done.

So this Uzbek dude kills 10% of the number of people killed in the Las Vegas shooting (and 1% of the number of people injured in that shooting), yet Muslims are the single greatest threat to American lives ...
 
We still don't know the truth of the Vegas shooting. Commenting on that now is risky at best.

But, if you want to compare 'large death events' over the globe the last 10 years I think the results would show that your statement is incredibly wrong and shocking from someone who is so obviously intelligent.
